Painted Diffuser
Hey guys, so the worst has happened. Here's the story, I got my CF C63 diffuser in the mail yesterday (which by the way it looks gorgeous!) and noticed it didn't have all the hooks on it to be installed straight up. So I decided to keep my old diffuser on for a day or 2 until I figure out how to install it cleanly. (Will end up drilling some black small screws around the edges) But anyways I was on my way out to pick up the gf and when I arrive home I notice my old C63 diffuser isn't on the car! lol Well after searching for all yesterday and today I found it. Miraculously it's in amazing condition other than some long scratches. What my question is, how do you guys think it would look if I painted the diffuser to match the paint of my car?

Just found this pic:

You think a Metallic Black Painted one would look nice? Or should I just do flat black?

Thanks, Should I try to do a flat black paint job? I don't think matching the paint job would look good either tho I don't see how repainted grey would end up looking like it originally was. But maybe a non-shiny black or dark grey would look good?

Thanks guys, I'll keep you posted what ends up. I'll also post some pics of my CF diffuser tonight (with the brackets I purchased from the dealership) I'll go with Flat black, maybe take it to a paint shop sometime this week.

BTW- I purchased this diffuser from micropower but he scratched it before he shipped it. He gave me my money back but I'm still losing out.

I think the flat black is more like matte "painted" black so it doesn't look as plasticky
and bout that scratch, wouldn't the paint cover it?

Yea the paint should hide the scratches no problem. I'm going to get it painted this week and might put it up for sale again or use it as a backup myself.

How thick is the plastic? I wonder if you could get away with doing a general sanding of the entire diffuser and not even need to paint it? ... or just gloss coat it afterwards?

I am here to get information on the W204 where as items are common across the different levels (i.e. 300, 350, 63). But all I see are posers trying to make their car look like something it is not.
I like the SL63, should I cut my roof off and claim that it is an SL63? That is pretty much what a bunch of these guys are doing; buy the cheaper version and add parts to make it look like the top line C-Class. If you want to look like you own a C63 then go buy one, don't cheapen the real C63s with changing a c300 to look like one.
These are most likely the same guys that claim they were once a Navy SEAL, rock star, CIA agent _______fill in the blank) but have decided that they prefer to work at the local Burger King because it is more exciting.
I can see modding a car for performance, but come on, changing the exhaust tips and difusser to look like a C63, all that does is scream poser, there is no performace gain at all.
Sorry if some of you don't like the truth, but it is what it is.

I PAID MUCH MORE FOR MY NON C63 AMG THAN YOU FOR YOUR C63, so dont talk about cheaper version OK.
And if you dont like it here, go back to the childrens chanel forum
