Waxed car and now black plastic peice under rear bumber

I waxed the car and got wax on the plastic part under the bumber in the rear and it left white marks like it took the color off the plastic. I used plexus to polish and that didn't work. I tried armoral and that didn't work. any thoughts.

And we have a winner. The rubbing alcohol will take care of your problem.

use a microfiber towel and water and just scrub it like crazy. it will come off. dont be fooled by the water on the micro towel, which will seemingly have removed it. you still need to scrub like crazy

The best wax i've used is turtle wax ice, you can actually put it on black rubber and plastic trim...

The amount of crap in this post is unbelieveable....

...You first need to remove the wax. Using polish or anything like brake cleaner is a bad idea - polish will remove the surface texture and leave shiny spots and brake cleaner may actually melt the bumper.

Dishwashing soap or alcohol should take the wax right off. You can then use a protectant like Aerospace 303 to protect the surface and give it a rich color.

Most detailers frown on using ArmorAll as it damages the surface over time and leaves a greasy, high shine residue.

Unfortunately, the OP may have damaged his bumper already by using polish. He can try a product made specifically for restoring the black color such as "back to black" found in most auto parts stores.

Listen to this wise advice! - Alcohol will take it off & don't rub like mad on anything!!

I have done this before... waxing the car with NXT and got it on the black part of the bumper.
Its was on there for a month before i decided to clean it.

i used Meguiar's Gold class trim detailer.

The wax came right off. Worked really well.
