I thought the intent of a forum is to share info and help people with similar interests.

Even using the Advanced search does not always give the results you are looking for. All I am saying is that if you are going to take the time to post then at least answer the question or offer a suggestion to point the member in the right direction.

i understand... and i know people struggle to search for things... it's time consuming and like you said they may not find results and it gets annoying.

making a thread is a quick fix... people have to learn to use Key Words! can't be asking every time you need something.

telling people "search is your friend" might be overused sometimes... but imo it is a good suggestion.

Look at it this way, if you just provide them with the answer, then when the next time comes around, they'll just blindly ask again, and again and again. If you inform them to use the search in the first place, then the next time they'll remember to try to search for it, improving behavior patterns. Sure, it doesn't hurt for the first time to also provide them with the link, but a gentle reminder of the search not only encourages them to use the tool, but also others who might be reading this thread.


And clear/smoked sidemarkers are important business! I remember back when we all uniformly rejoiced when these first became available and quickly turned into one of the staple first mods on all 204 models.

seriously... the mods need to start facilitating this site a little better... threads like this need to be closed / locked / deleted and posters given points for infraction.

When and if you start to get 20 or 30 PM's a day asking what bulbs to use or how did you black out your chrome, what % tint on your windows etc you might change your mind. The answers to all of these questions can easily be found by searching.

search came up empty, not enough characters. Maybe you should rewrite the C++ program for the search menu and correct theproblem to accept fewer characters. Thanks to those that posted help, its appreciated.

You mean PHP, not C++. And I'm sure it was by design as I would have coded it the same way to return more meaningful search results in the query.

and what did you use for your search parameters btw? Clear Side Marker or Side Marker Install would have been the obvious choice I would think.

one thing that does bother me about the search is that multiple keyword searches uses an "OR" boolean. in my experience, you can't specify an "AND".

( "&" doesn't work either )

Not only that I asked because sometimes you find more information than by searching. For example, when removing the corner lights there is a Torqs 20 screw on the inside holding the light in place. Not just a push tab.
Yes I picked the car up last saturday, 6 miles on it when we got there. The multimedia package is awesome! I really like the car, it made the 05 feel like an antique. I still have the C63 Pirellis for sale. I wanted all seasons, but I may just use them. People are cheap, they dont wan t to spend $1300 for new tires, so instead of buying mine for $500 they want to give me $200 offers. Its not even worth my time or money to get them off the rims for that. They will go on the car this week. I just need to get the TPMS installed on the rims. I mounted 1 front to make sure everything fits, no problems and man do they look good. Ill post a pic of the car when the wheels are on.
