Clear bumper markers installed!
I just got my bumper markers today. I agreed to install them and send photos to the seller. I have the first set. I am not sure when more will be available. I am sure he'll let me know. I actually got them two weeks before planned. I am not even sure if I am supposed to show them yet, so the photos I sent him are not included in this thread. I wanted to wait until I installed my black grille, but I got too excited . Here are the instructions as I did the install. The pictures are self explanitory:
Pop out the three center push pins (they look like nail heads) by pulling the center pin with your finger nail. They come out easily. Then pull the outer rings which are also a pins:
After that, you'll be able to pull out the fender liner. Make sure you protect the paint on the fender lip. Once the liner is pulled back, you will see a tab on the upprt portion of the lamp unit. It's very easy to spot. Twist the bulb and remove it. Install the silver coated bulb and clean off the dirt that gathered around the lense:
The lese comes with the rear housing, but I left the OE unit in place:
Install the lense into the housing (which is behind the bumper) and you're done. It's very easy. It took about 10 minutes per side because I was being very cautious:
I have two really good pics. I will post them after I make sure the seller doesn't mind. I am not sure what the protocall is for that sort of thing. You'll see them in his ad.
As you can see, this mod totally cleans up the look of the car. I really like these lenses.
I hope this DIY is helpful. Enjoy.

Holy crap that looks nice so clean, I thought it was going to be more opaque (muggy lens) but I like this better. Who is the seller? Will he be selling on ebay or on the forums? I can't wait to order these, did you order those bulbs too, and how come?

He will have them on eBay. The bulbs are silver coated and he has them too. The OEs are amber so they are out. I was going to use LEDs, but these look way better.

They look amazing on your white car Didn't you say earlier the seller was considering a tinted lens too? I think those might look better on my car.
I thought you were painting your grill? Everyday I get closer to doing mine. My dealer quoted me $150 for a replacement Sport grill. Just wanted an extra to play with.

The bulbs are silver. When they are off, you see no amber. When they are on, they light up in amber. Look at the pics again. You can see the silver coating.

damn nice! I've been looking everywhere for clear sidemarkers. Since you're in communication with the seller, see if he's willing to take orders from us forum members. Or keep us informed when he's going to be selling more of them.

They look much cleaner than the amber ones IMO.
Fortunately it's not a mod I need as we don't have these lights on our cars

Looks great. Clear lenses also look exceptional on black cars. Please post info when they are ready for sale.

It was either this or get a new bumper and shave the lights. I considerd that, but the is mod was nowhere near the $700-$1,000 that would have cost. As with everyhthing, this looks great in-person. It really changes the look of the car.

Is it not a legal requirement in the US to have these lights

I was just curious as I wouldn't have thought MB would have gone to the extra expense of having different wings {fender, I think} and extra wiring if they weren't necessary
