Is there an intake for the C350, I want to change the sound under acceleration,TY

Hello, I have an 09 C350 and would like to change the sound when the car is under hard acceleration ... it is a lease so an exhaust is not in the picture, my experience has been an air intake will change the sound a bit but after searching I cannot find one for our car.

The K & N Air filter by itself sounds like it will not do anything for the sound of the engine from the search I did ...

Is there an intake available for this car ?

thanks

I am with you AF, I would like a small simple mod to make it sound a little deeper. I also have a two year lease. The only other two mods i am doing is dropping it this weekend on the 18 AMG wheels and problably upgrade to 19"s or 20"s in a few months. Need a deeper sound though out of that 350!!!

Well, I gotta agree that FrankW's car sounds great. Unfortunately, it would be far too loud for my wife (who drives our C every day).

I already tried that and it didn't work

Seriously though my experience from my other cars is replacing the Air intake will create a different sound when accelerating ... in the case of my 330i (yrs ago) it gave the engine a deeper sound where my RX8 (again many yrs ago) it gave a strange sound.

Is there anything available for the C350 ... I have searched and turned up pretty much nothing ...

I am working on a design for the GLK/C300/C350/C63. It will take some time, but it is in the works.

I would definitely be up for a good aluminum intake. (One that's not crap though) But here's what it should look like:

HAHAHA...It is funny that you mentioned this one. I was actually thinking of doing a design like that and after doing a bunch of drawings and sorting through different materials, I came across that one online...I was pissed...LOL. Oh well, I might still do one similar to it, we'll see. I also have another design inmind as well.

^^ you don't want that without an enclosed box shielding engine heat or you'll lose performance.

That is my concern with some type of shielding ....

Looks like you would be going from a ram style cold air intake to a nice warm air intake....no thanks.

Just go with a panel filter, I had a K&N cold air intake on the TT and a panel filter and the pf was better in performance.

This intake design will suck mostly hot air from the engine compartment. Heat soak will rob your engine of power. Not worth the added sound, in my opinion. Been there, done that in a previous vehicle - sounded great but the car was seriously down on power on hot summer days.

Plus the oil for the foam filter will eventually build up on your mass airflow sensor filament - not good.

The intake system on these cars is a pretty good design. I honestly doubt that you could improve upon it much really, given the amount of space you have under the hood. You would have to use much larger tubing to change the sound.
I think you will have to do some exhaust mods to change the sound, but if done right, it shouldn't be hard to return to stock before you have to give the car back.

You could change the tail pipes from the mufflers back to a larger diameter with bigger tips. In my experiance that will change the sound also. And that would be easy to swap back.

That's what I did to mine and it has a nice growl to it. I noticed the deeper growl right after I had it done, and it was always around 3K RPM and above. They basically installed the larger tips and cut into the muffler slightly to create a large opening for the larger tips.

white and whiter
if there were one or a simple way to do one there would've been one already for the 203. not to mention the 204.

more air volume = more sound. i haven't touched the airbox on the 204 yet, but I suspect there is also some sort of baffle inside the box to reduce noise.
