W204 Fuel pump craps out?

Anyone know of this being a known issue. 7500 miles and dead fuel pump.

Plus the dealership gives my Sister crap about the then gives here an Avis Chevy rental?

Isn't MB supposed to give you what your car is minimum as a loaner?
Oh BTW Cherry Hill Mercedes on Rt 70 Cherry Hill Nj is the WORST MB DEALER OF ALL.

Please let me know more info on this asap. She wants to lodge a complaint with MB directly and I want her to have all the right info prior to such actions.

IMHO what a pos 7500 miles and the fuel pump dies in the middle of a heavy traffic road?

The dealer is not required to give any loaner, there has been a few discusions here about that. I had the same happen with my Corvette in 85less than 1000 miles and it quits. Since it was one of the first ones sold in NY and changes had been made they didn't have one in stock and I had to wait two weeks for one to come in. BTW no loaner at all on that.

My fuel pump burst or died right when I was at about 1,800 miles or so. I was in West Palm Beach, middle lane on a boulevard and it died as I crossed an intersection. Had to have it towed to the nearest Mercedes dealer and that one didn't fix it properly. They also have me a ****ty Chrysler Aspen boat SUV which smelled of smoke.

After that I took it to my local dealer and after some work on it the pump and gauge were both fixed. Haven't had a single issue with the car since.

My car was a 2008 by the way so I assumed it was a one-off due to it being a new model and my service advisor hadn't had any similar issues.

Come on, get a grip. The fuel pump failure is the responsibilty of MB (not the dealer's fault) and the warranty will take care of it. That does not make the car a POS. The issue of a loaner or rental car is up the the individual dealer and complaining to MBUSA will serve no purpose.

And as a W203 4 cylinder driver, you just wish your car could be as reliable as hers.

Let's star by saying that the C class is the entry level MB in other words is the cheapest one, so What were your sister expecting an S65 AMG as a loaner??? She should be gratefull that she even got a loaner which they are not required to do so.

Nope. Same old 18s which I bought over the counter for a wee discount before the car showed up and the dealer mounted my Tire Rack drop shipped Bridgestones on them so the car could be delivered with that job completed.

These things happen. Any idea whether that was a Pierburg or a Bosch pump? Both are OE suppliers to Benz.

While they do not require to give you a loaner, usually it is customary to do so, especially if it was warranty work. However, all the loaners at the dealership could have been given out when she got there. Not such a biggie
