Powered subwoofer installation help

I'm a first time DIYer and have been reading the boards for help on my Kenwood KSC-SW10. I'm planning on placing the subwoofer under the passenger side seat. I've removed the head unit and tapped into the rear speakers using the harness provided in the subwoofer. Okay here's my question. How to I route the wires from the headunit to the subwoofer. Is there a hole or path I can take to get to the right side or do I have to remove the glove compartment. I started removing some of the glove compartment before I decided to write this post and ask for a little help before I take everything apart. Thanks in advance guys

Do you have the HK surround sound or standard. I ask because if you have the HK you should tap into the sub for signal as the rear speakers may not present enough bass signal. As for the wires, run them down the kick panel and under the carpet.

I have the standard Audio 20. I don't know why I'm having a problem finding a hole to run the wires behind the head unit to get to the right kick panel. Do you think I should go down the left one instead.

I would run the wiring through the glove box on down under the carpet. I'll be putting in this 8" Blaupunkt powered subwoofer:

//http://www.amazon.com/Blaupunkt-Compact-powered-subwoofer-70-watt/dp/B000S6GVPO

of course I'm biased (German sub for German car) but it has received excellent reviews. I'll tap into the subwoofer signal as norm stated.

Sycuan73 - Did the subwoofer fit under the passanger seat?

Chi Benz,

Do you have any pics of your setup ? The site that you posted above is that an amp and sub comes in 1 piece??

Thanks,

Andy

I haven't received the unit yet. Still trying to figure out where I want to mount it. Yes its an amp and sub all in one.

Hi,

I have a five channel amp (powerbase) was installed in the floor of passager seat. Subwoofer 12" Rockford P3 in the truck, and one Pre-amp in glovebox. I will send the picture today. The front door speakers were replace with HK, the rear door speakers are original, are very difficult to replace or impossible. Sound is very good.

Chi,

The kenwood subwoofer fits perfectly under the passenger seat. It doesn't rattle my windows or anything, but it gives my stock system that extra bass I'm looking for. I also changed out the front speakers with some infinity kappa 60.7 cs. I have to admit the system sounds great now with not too much work.

Anyway you can take some photos of this sub installed? How did you run the wiring specifically? Were the Kappa's a direct fit or? Thanks.

Here's mine, sorry about the bad pictures. JL Audio mono 500w mounted in what I think is the diesel European battery location. No holes drilled, made a templated that slid into the compartment. The sub is a W6 sealed as it fits perfectly, made a strap and used the OEM strapping loops. You could remove this system and there would not be a mark of the installation. Added this to a MM HK system. The car is so tight that the car actually pressurizes, the tump is wild however the pressure can hurt your hears.

Ran power wire from the front Battery. Signal is a "high level" input to the amp taken from the rear sub, you actually tap into it at the stock rear amp. Turn on is an accessory signal taken at the rear power module. I set the amp level and just leave it, you could run a remote to the front if you want.

There are two types of remote. One is the remote turn on, just take an accessory signal from the rear power module to turn on the amp. The other is a remote bass adjust that is essentially a potentiometer you can mount up front to control the bass.
