Have a look how low your expansion bottle is .If the alarm only appears when the engine is cold, it should be OK over the festive season. If in doubt add a cup of distilled water to rid you of the alarm & then a cup of MB coolant after Christmas.

I will be honest, I think that there is a gliche in the coolant systems of all c300's. Lots of people said they have had problems with the coolant message displaying. Mine has come on multiple times. I add coolant and it goes away. about a month later it comes back on and when I check the coolant level, it is low!!!
There are no signs of a leak either. It sucks cause I have only had my car for a year and just hit 10,000 miles on it

If its just a small amount of liquid you need to bring the expansion bottle up to the correct mark - you can just add distilled water alone. A little water won't dilute the overall ratio in the cooling system by much, rather then having to buy the coolant just to use a few ounces of it to make a 50/50 mix.

I have had the ongoing problem of the message appearing for some weeks. Mercedes Benz have had one go to locate the problem, and having another go on the 30th. It is an electrical / sensor problem I think. They are starting to think that too. Mine appears at various stages, never when cold. Always when at running temperature. I will keep you informed as to the progress after the 30th Dec.

My C was just in for service B last week. Once it got cold I started to get the message too. When I checked the fluid it was up to the FULL line. When I picked it up from service the advisor told me it was low. Unfortunately, he also told me I have a bent wheel. God I hate New England roads !!
