Easy H7 foglight bulb change - w/pics
Hey there.
So I went out got myself some white foglight bulbs to replace those ugly yellow ones. I went with the Eurolite Xenon Fusion. It's a 55W bulb with a color temp of 5000K.
It was very easy to do and took less than 10 mins. Here are step by step instructions with pics:
1) Open box containing lightbulbs
2) Undo 3 screws using a Torx 15 screwdriver (Pic 002)
3) Remove mesh foglight panel. This should just fall out when you've removed the screws.
4) Reach in and give the bulb housing a good turn (clockwise for passenger side and counter-clockwise for driver side). I found that you may need to use either your left or right hand to get good leverage on turning the housing. It can be a bit tight.
5) Carefully remove the bulb from the foglight assembly. What I did was use a paper towel to protect the bumper as well as prevent the new bulb from getting dirty. (Pic 003)
6) Disconnect the bulb housing from the wire. (Just pinch both sides of housing to release the clips)
7) Slowly and carefully pry the bulb from the grey housing and reinsert the new bulb.
8) Reinstall by connecting the housing back to the wire, and then reinserting the bulb into the fog light assembly. Make sure you line up the grey tabs to fit into the fog light assembly slots. (Tip: Mark one of the grey tabs with a pencil so you know where it goes when you reinstall) Press all the way in and give it a good turn until you can't turn anymore. Verify your work by making sure all 3 tabs are fitted into the slots. A flashlight really helps. (Pic 004)
9) Reinstall mesh covers. Don't tighten the screws too much otherwise you may break the cover.
That's it, your done. No more ugly yellow lights.
I also included two pics. Pic 005 shows with the Eurolite bulb passenger side and stock bulb on the driver side. (My camera sucks so the pics don't do it justice. Believe me, they do look good, and the light is bright white).
Pic 006 is a close up of the Eurolite bulb in action.

Agreed with the bumper. That's the benefit of living in Canada. You get to cover your car in salt each winter.

Woah you're quick with your mods as well. Congrats on your new mod. Never came across those sort of bulbs. Where are they from anyway? Guess I'll be switching mine out soon as well.

These bulbs are readily available in Canada. Many auto retailers carry them here. Paid $20 (CAD) for the pair. They're made in Korea. The company is called Toucan Industries.

Actually, mine are 5000k. They seem OK. I may try the 7000K just to see what they look like. They're only $20 a pair.

Any one know who sells them in Kitchener, Ontario?
Any one know who sells them in Kitchener, Ontario? I called CanadianTire and they sell some sort of H7 bulbs for $12 each and MB dealship sells it for $14 - I think those $20 a pair does not exist here - I think I'll go with the MB dealer, only that is a bit far.
Thanks for the instructions and the pics!!!

I am close to the Express and University Ave. If you are coming from Kitchener 85 N, exit at University first exit, I am close to Bridge and University. Is there a way to order them online?

yes, there is a place to buy online. There is a big thread about phillips crystal visions being the perfect colour match and such.
Here is the thread.. https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...atch-pics.html
and here is the link to where you can order them online. http://www.ipmart.com/main/product/P...php?prod=42639

Ok, so I ended up buying a pair of GE NightHawks (the guy said I need to get two to match), cost me around $65. When I started to install the bulbs I tried one last time the fog lights using the lights switch and the old ones were both working.
Apparently the fog lights works fine when I turn them on using the light switch but when I take the car out from a dark area (garage) into the daylight, the driver side fog light does not work. Am I missing something? Any ideas?
Thanks,
AR
