Had this happen to me yesterday after driving my car hard, made an appointment with mb in the morning. Next thing I know when I started the car the next day, the error code wasn't showing up anymore... Strange? What do you guys think?

update my fun experience,
i drop my key inside the trunk and shut it. then i couldn't open it (yes, the car was lock, and i lost 1 key before). I thought that i didn't have warranty or roadside assistance (well my car is 2008, but only 19,000 miles). So i call my local locksmith and he opened the car w/o key. as soon as we open the car, alarm went off, and shut down whole system. then i had to call roadside, they were nice and told me that my car still under warranty and free towing to dealer (55miles away). then they only charge me $60 to reset computer and get me the key inside trunk.
another nice thing. they found that 3bulbs were about to go out, so they replace them for FREE. NICE. and they said they set up for next time, if i left key inside, i can call roadside and have remote start, unlock my car. i was really happy.
Don't call me stupid because of using locksmith, loll. i thought i could work because i have many friend back in Vietnam use Benz and for some reasons, none of those has alarm systems so they always can use locksmith to open the car w no problem. loll.

I have same problem with check right rear brake lamp, tail lamp, fog light warning. Happened first time 6 months ago, Autobahn Motors dealer in Belmont, CA replaced the harness under warranty. This week the same warning appeared. The lights are working but the rear right turn signal will flash quickly for a second, then stop. I called Autobahn Motors and they said I'm out of warranty now so it won't be covered. I mentioned their website states "1 Year Unlimited Warranty on all repairs", but the service adviser said that doesn't apply to me since I didn't personally pay for the repair 6 months ago. Any suggestions on how to get this repair covered by the dealer?

I just discovered today that I have the same problem... I think that I caught it in time to fix it myself before it totally burned up the light panel... I removed the plug cleaned the burnt terminals wrapped the exposed wire in electrical tape and isolated it from making contact with the other connectors....works good now.... I will continue to monitor to see if the concern comes back.
So this is not a recall or tsb... When I touched the wire during operation it was getting so hot that I could only touch it briefly without burning myself.

I've gotten the same warning several times now. Strangely enough, it seems to always happen immediately after I drive my car through a car wash. I have the after market reverse camera installed with the ground sharing the same wire as the tail lamp. I'm worried that the dealership will tell me that's the cause of the error.

I had a "Check Right Tail and Brake Lamp" message on my 2008 C350. All the rear bulbs appeared to be working at the time. I changed the 2 bottom bulbs on the passengers side and there was no change. I then changed the 2 bottom bulbs on the drivers side and the message was gone. I thought the right side would have been the passengers side, but I guess not.

There is also a known issue with regards to a relay or something getting cooked. Had it on my first c63 and dealer replaced no problem, despite me now pulling power off it for my backup camera. Never mentioned the camera even.
Unfortunately, I have the same problem in this car. Just started.

And just to make things even less clear, I got the same message 2 days after a recent B service so I mentioned it in the comments section of the follow up email they sent, which caused 2 different MB reps call me, was told to schedule an appointment and before I could do that I was called by the dealership by a total idiot at the service desk who proceeded to tell me I was the wrong Mr......... "we've already called the right Mr......(!), so I ended the call, and the rear lamp message disappeared the next day. Hasn't appeared since, been an easy month and a half. Maybe a transient blip when the car was on the diagnostic/scope? Maybe Karma tryin' to bend me over? Definitely a short in the dealership staff wiring.

Has anyone definitively located the cause of this issue? My right P2 light on occasion was telling me to "check my right rear turn signal" I would turn off the car and restart it and it would clear for days/weeks. I would check during this error message and didn't see any change in flicker speed although my interior flicker was blinking faster. Now all of a sudden, it shows the error constantly, and my right rear turn signal (all LEDs) are not blinking at all, but rather the upper parking light bulb is blinking almost as a default by design. If I get a new light assembly, will this cure the problem or is it harness related? Please help, need to resolve this ASAP! ( No warranty)

My 2006 CLK350 has a similar phenomenon. Has anyone heard of these faulty lamp failure messages referring to the front right parking lamp? The message is intermittent but all the lights work all the time... I checked the harness at the bulb and it looks spic n' span.

was it expensive? I’ve read it’s a known issue by MB isn’t recalling and it would be $1500 to fix. Is this your experience?

It's a recall on many if not all of the pre-facelift W204 - free at your local dealership. Just had my '09 done ~1 year ago and they replaced both lamp carriers for free, mine started with instrument cluster indicating one all the right side lamps failed then showing all the right and left rear lamps failed, they were all still working but recall got me new carriers and bulbs.
