Unhappy Got a fix-it ticket yesterday

For not having my front plate on.

The front bumper doesn't have screw holes, so short of drilling them in, do I have any other options for mounting my front plate?

There are a bunch of brackets that can be attached from the tow hook. I'd look into that.

....translation: you don't have to drill the vinyl front bumper.

These other mounting options attach from underneith.

Zip-tie that b***h on there never drill holes unless you get a bracket that mounts w/o holes.

Zip Ties are not acceptable here in Cali, the plate has to be mount on the bumper or on a bracket

Tow hook mount -> gominigo.com
Stealth/hideaway mount -> swiftmotorsports.com

I have neither, but have heard a specific suburb out here likes giving no-front-plate tickets so I did a little advance research.

Thanks guys, will look into one of these tow hook/mount options. Though it's going take a bit to get used to the plate being off-center.

Just put the plate on to show the Officer, get it signed off, then pull around the corner and un-attach that b*tch.

That's what I always used to do with my old Mustang that was an attention magnet. I got numerous fix it tickets. I don't care what they cost, I just factor it in to the price of maintaining a car to look nice.

Benz have a whole range of black plate surrounds to fit different plates around the world - they fit the contours of the front bumper moulding. In SA they are provided with the car. I'm sure your dealer will have/can get.

I agree, zip ties aren't allowed in CA. I've been told to redo it in the past, but my last front plate ticket I zip-tied it to the front black plastic mesh grille and the cop signed off on it about 30 feet from my car. The key is in CA to go to CHP stations. I'm probably on my 12th or 13th fix-it violation, if that doesn't work there are a dozen or more brackets available.

zip tie

Zip Tie is the way to go. I've had mine this way since September 2007, 3years later and still on.
I'm in Southern Cali, LAC, and I've past this citation several times. LA County Sheriff's start there carries in my home town of East Los Angeles, so you know they go by the book.
CHP, Alhambra PD, Monterey PD, San Fernando PD, Glendale PD, Lakewood Sheriff's, Pasadena PD, ES & WS LAPD, ELA Sheriff's etc... have all signed off or didn't sweat my front license plate all zip tied up. No need to drill on such a beautiful bumper.

Looks pretty nice on there. So do you take it off (the black mount) after each inspection?

Thanks. No, i don't take the black mount off. i some time take my plate off because the black mount looks great with my matte front lip and front grill. I haven't had any spare time or else my headlights would have been flat black already...

Yes, I agree with that. It does fit in nicely with the front end of the car.
