New Brakes - are these junk?
I'm in a bit of a pickle.. my rear rotors are shot, could use resurfacing and new pads but I would rather just put on new stuff..
I would like to change them all at once, has anyone here tried out this set of pads/rotors from eagle brakes?

let me clarify. I am debating whether to change JUST the rear rotors and pads vs. the front and rear rotors and pads.
I havent looked at the front rotors/pads yet.. might put it up on the lift after work though and pull the stuff off.
Cheapest option: akebono ceramic pads w/ resurfaced rotors @ ~120
Next: Akebono ceramic pads with new ebay rear rotors @ 250
or: Eagle brakes full F/R set @ 350
or: something else..

why do your rotors need resurfacing...did you follow the maintenance schedule?

haha no need for bbk.. but my rotors need resurface because they are grooved/rippley. And yeah, always have followed the service sched.
Update, just decided to buy some akebono pads for the rear. Now I just need to decide on what to do about the rotors

One thing I learned from my infiniti is to go OEM. I tired to go for better pads and rotors and I lost braking power so I will always go OEM unless I decide to go bbk

yeah, well i don't care much about brake power on this thing, I just want the brake dust to be gone and the "sh sh sh sh sh" noise to stop when i'm going from stoplight to stoplight
its embarassing

Replace
Be careful about off-brand components because if they are Chinese, they are likely inferior. I don't see any info on the website about country of origin.

C300 sport 10K rear rotor pair used $50, stock KA099
Weber Bros Auto USA-PA(Lebanon) 1-800-222-2528
from car-part.com
I would go this route before any aftermarket unless the aftermarket is TUV approved

Rotors & pads should be matched to each other.
Whats the point of having hard pads that cause undue wear to your rotors or vise versa.
Pads are cheaper than rotors.
I have heard on this forum that one should achieve 2 pad replacements before the rotor thickness is under limits.
Choosing the correct rotor / pad match requires expert knowledge .
If you use OEM you will be within specifications.

Per above
you don't turn MB rotors there is not enough material to resurface. If not smooth replace with new.
Akebono can be used with any rotor. There is no pad matching to rotors.Unless you are running ceramic rotors which you are not.
So no expert is required. If akebono be sure to properly bed them in per instructions.
www.tirerack.com carries them.
You most certainly do not want to use drilled rotors. They crack

EBC pads, factory rotors. I would strongly suggest machining the rotors before putting the new pads on as this will extend the life of the new pads greatly.

My front disc original thickness was 28mm . Minimum thickness allowed is 26mm
Rears were 10mm original . Minimum allowed 8.3 mm.
1mm equals 40 thousands of an inch.
If say, after 50,000 to 100,000 km your wear is 1.5 mm , this leaves very little room for machining anyway.
I still say if fitting new pads make sure that they are not going to adversely affect your rotors & will give adequate performance.
Surely some research on there compatibility is required.
