300hp from a 300?
Only down side to this car is the power. I know it's not a C63 or M, but it's just sluggish to me.
I'm thinking of the powerchip ECU flash, and maybe K&N filters, I like the mellow tone of the motor so I'm not trying to do a full exhaust just yet.
What's the most hp I can pull out of this 3.0?
I'm wishing I had a 3.5 for a base, but can I work this pretty good?
Other than this little beef, I love this car!

u want to take a 221hp car and just with minimal boltons and a ecu reflash on a NA engine get almost 80hp?
Good luck. It's probably impossible from your list of mods. and I'm thinking only way you'll even manage anything close to the number is forced induction.
On my old car, I turboed it and I dynoed it 85hp more than the baseline. Then I wanted more challenge so I took the turbo out and installed stage 3 brian crower cams, standalone engine management, and a pro tune from one of the best. I only gained 40 hp max (I can't remember the exact numbers).
My point is on a Naturally Aspirated engine u're going to have to do more than just a chip, filters.

I think you'd have to do a full rebuild with cams, port polish, balancing, higher compression, etc. Even then I think you'd only get another 40-50hp max once tuned.

I was thinking the same. Didn't see any kits available.
I know I love my turbo diesel (800+ hp race truck), so I'm not foreign to turbo work.
Just wondering what I can do to make some decent power.
My girl has a 335i and that car has some boogie to it! (turbos I know )

Kinda wish I had gone with the 335 but oh well, c350 is still a great car.

beauty of turbo cars. I remember when I turboed mine, me and my buddy street tuned our cars for fuel efficiency. So we would load that for DD and when we go to the race track we'd load the tune from the professional. it was great. hahaha.

I even know the "hold your auto/manual stick to the left" trick for the downshift, but that's not as practical to me either.
Guess I just need to jump in my diesel when I want face melting speed. Nothing like 8100 pounds going 11.80s

Maybe someone can answer this for me...
Does the c350 and the SLK 350 share the same engine ?
If so, couldn't a simple tune bump up the c350 from 268 hp / 258 tq to 300 hp / 265 tq ?

I love my 300 for sure. Only down side is that I always feel like my pedal is under powerband and by the time I get there, I don't even feel like accelerating lol

But when I first got the car I was thinking about modding it and then I realized with that money, I could probably buy a miata and boost it. So I might just do that. Or get a crotch rocket, i miss two wheels so much! But damn that truck must be a blast to drive, I drove my friends ford truck (don't know too much, but his was turbo too, with a lot of work done) and I was scared ****less....probably cos it was so big and fast. lol

Me too! I miss it as well. The acceleration and exhilaration of crotch rockets are hard to beat. My old bikes make the W204 feel like a luxurious go-cart.
I think it's too much work and money to gain hp for a NA engine. Save the money (and time) and get a bigger car if you want more power

Go back in time 2-4 years and buy preowned amg or. A five year old S63Amg that cost 205K new is now around 32K US. In smaller forms the price is lower. Don't get stung by 'I need the newest so I will pay the depreciation' 20% is the average out the door depreciation day one so wait a couple of model years and nock off 40-50% of the new car price. Just a thought.

Cliff notes: No.
Anyway, the OP is talking about a C300. Reading comprehension?

My father in law had one of the new Camaro SS for a few months and let me drive it once. Looks amazing to me, power was great (although not as strong as you'd think due to the weight), and it sounded incredible. However, the thing feels heavy as a tank, the six speed was terrible, and it does not corner all that well. If driving in a straight line very fast is your thing, that is a great car OR if you want a piece of classic American muscle reinvented. I loved the looks of it and would probably be driving one if I didn't have the need for four doors for my kiddos but there are a ton of cars that are more fun to drive in the twisties and that's my thing

Lol.. I'm pretty sure you aren't going to get 100hp per liter from this engine. Karo who has the same 3.5 which is TUNED is not even making 300WHP and you want to make 300HP which will equate to like ~260whp from minimal bolt ons.

Yeah- I've basically decided that this will be my DD and when I want to race, I'll jump in the truck.
It was my plan all along and I need to stick to it. And if I start doing with any modding, it won't stop So I'll just sit and wonder

Hopefully, the Nitrous suggestion was a joke. If you don't know why, check out the C63 section and see what happened to DADSC63. I think he's still having issues the transmission and torque converter.

Your joking right. Dads running 600+hp to the wheels with nitrous....120+shot with headers, heads, full exhaust. Hes putting down over 500rwhp without nos if im not mistaken. This is a c300/c350 forum right....i doubt a 50 or 75hp shot would do much. Hes pushing his car beyond any limits....theres a big difference between his project running 10s and making a c300 hit 300hp.

Of course I did. Even better, I drove an Infiniti G35s sedan before the 300. The G35 will click off a high 13 in the 1/4 and was a manual to boot. It was a fun car for speed, but just didn't cut it in luxury or build quality. The clutch was nasty too, extremely heavy and just wasn't friendly enough for a dd.
I drove the 300 and it was refined and just so well built that there wasn't even a doubt in my mind which one was coming home with me. If I had an extra 75K sitting in my pocket at the dealer, I would've gladly scooped up the S63 sitting in their lot
From what I've read, it doesn't seem that you'd have a seat of the pants difference from a 300 to a 350 even, so I'm not too worried about that. As always, there is no replacement for displacement though.
Overall, once again, I love this car! It's fun and a great daily driver that I get a consistent 24-26mpg (hand calculated) on a regular basis driving city miles.
I guess I'm just extremely underwhelmed by the lack of aftermarket parts for this car, in the engine department. Pricing I can deal with, I'm used to high dollar modding, but to not even have 2-3 intake options, or options to mod some of the engine without spending another car worth of money, I'm happy with my mpg.
All that said- Mercedes built one solid car through and through, and I'm still glad I bought it to this day.

So all in all, Merc has the best of both worlds with this intake for sure.
