Just turned 1000 miles old too - wheee... I snagged the material on the drivers armrest with my wedding ring (omen?), and tore it pretty good. I just want to replace the whole thing and be done with it. I looked at some of the internet places (Autohauz, etc.) and nobody lists interior parts. My question is, does anyone have a source or a part number at least. My local dealer parts department is run by d*cks, so they're no help.
Let me know if you know... Thanks, Mark

You can always take it to an auto upholstery shop and just get them to rewrap the arm rest. Might be cheaper alternative.

Yeah, that might be the what I have to do. Called around and went to a couple of the suggested websites for pricing, it's all one part, meaning you have to buy the whole panel...
Part # 20472096629D88 - Left front door panel, black - $328.00
Nice way to start the day, didn't even make it out of the garage...

Why not try to fight and get it covered under warranty? I would at least try before I shelled out $300. My escalade seat had been re-upholstered because it wasn't wearing well (I didn't even mention anything, the service advisor recommended it to me). If you ask me, the seat looked fine, but I wasn't about to argue getting a new seat upholstery.
Just say it was a material defect or something, do you have any pictures?

no, it's not that kind of issue - clearly my fault, I'd have to bend the truth to claim it. it's about the size of an eraser on the inside handle with the tear coming straight up. if you feel in your handle, you can feel that ridge where the material meets the plastic. I'm going to take it off and try and glue it down with some emblem glue...

Hey at least you didn't buy pre-owned only to find out that your clean carfax C350 had actually been repainted on the entire passenger side after a minor accident and they did a crappy job...hey that's my story, but just trying to make you feel better! Two months dealing with my dealership working out a settlement and my car gone for two weeks getting fixed, and $1200 out of pocket cost later...my car was like new Feel better yet?
