Tire recommendations?
What's good MBWorld,
I'm in need of new tires, and would like to get recommendations from you guys to see which tires best fit the ride. I'm more into comfort than fast driving. I'm looking for tires that can keep the ride quiet, but when needing to accelerate, I need tires to grip the road nicely and take off.
So far I had these in mind,
Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110
Bridgestone Potenza RE-11
Michelin Pilot Sport PS2
Pirelli PZero Nero All Season
My brother has the Hankook's on his c300 S, and it rides smoothly and grips the road nicely. As for now, that's what I'm leaning towards, but I would like to get your inputs.
Thanks ya'll.

You have a mix of different types of tires. Here is what a large number of people thought over many miles.

Click on the tops of the individual column headings to rank the attributes most important to you. But, I think you should decide if you want all-season or not, and then the level of performance before focusing in on one brand.

Personally, I'm a fan of Toyo T1R and Nitto Invo for our car, but on that list, I'd go with the Ventus. I have them on my other car and they're solid.

PS2 is a solid tire. Been rocking those for the last year and love it.

I also have the Pilot Sport A/S and agree they are excellent, but they may not be the best choice for the OP. What are the requirements? OP has a desire for comfort, but has not explained the weather conditions this tire will see...ever freezing or cold, a little snow? Do you have dedicated winter tires, if needed? These factors may change the best first choice. If we knew more about the situation, we could offer ideas best for you, not just what we like for ourselves.

I live in LA, so evidently it doesnt snow out here... Lately its just been pouring rain. I got a quote from a tire place about the PS2's and they are going to run about 1500- installed (comes with warranty, labor, etc etc)
I also got the Hankook's quoted and they are going to run about 900 installed (with warranty, labor, etc). Do these seem reasonable prices?

I might go with the Continental ExtremeContact DWS(Ultra High Performance All-Season) for my next tire. Average rating on TireRack is higher than any other when I search for 2009 C300 Sport 4Matic, even slightly higher than Michelin PS2 (...but it really depends on what categories are most important to someone).

If the OP is staying in LA, won't see freezing temps nor snow and is willing to use some extra caution during the rain (shouldn't we all?), PS2 will give the better driving experience for the vast majority of the time.

Agree....DWS is a little bit better in the wet, and noticeably better in the snow. Pilot Sport A/S Plus is quite a bit better in the dry....choose your scenario! Vs. PS2, DWS is very strong in the wet, but even further behind in the dry. Also, folks who buy in different tire categories may have different reasons for buying, therefore, different approaches to the rating scale, so the ratings may not be comparable across categories. With about 11 million miles of consumer experience, the PS2 win over the Hankook by quite a bit within the Max Performance Summer category.

Moral of the story? No rims. LOL

Staggered 17" PS2 for $570! Ship to one of their local installers in your area and worst case with mounting and balancing, you won't come close to $1500!

Given the performance of the OEM Conti tires, I won't use the brand again. I was getting at least 4 flats a year with them, their durability to road hazards (potholes, nails/screws, etc) is poor - unless this particular model mentioned here is better.
