Thanks for the help Jimmy, so considering the skinny brand I should clear with 40F/44R. I guess the question there is does it rub anything at all if lowered on SS for example. Sorry if I keep going back and forth on these fitment and ET's, but I want to be sure my fitment is pretty spot on, that when I take corners or have load in the car, I'm not rubbing at all. The Wheel and suspension is my next mod, since I've already purchased my exterior mods. So lastly what is the max ET we can run without a poke, or stretching tire to clear. Thanks and sorry if I'm not pickup on this info right away.

I can clear just about anything w the right setup no matter the offset. our offset is weird, but in the bigger picture an inch is 25 point something mm's, so a few mm isnt much. just cause someone posts hey Im on Supersports w 40mm offset doesnt mean u will clear. Unless a poster gives u exact wheel offset and size and exact tire brand dont rely on just that. I rub on the wheels im running this month if I switch to ANY brand tire other than falken/sumitomo 265/30/19, so go figure. But remember we DONT rub our fenders out back, we rub the fabric inside them, unless your on other MB offset wheels.... thats another ball game.

its gonna be hard to find 40/44 for a w204, I dont think ive ever seen it. What look are you wanting? are you trying for as wide as possible without rubbing or ? I see u got daytonas now, ur not keeping them on? With these cars its not I want this offset let me get it, its more like can I find some decent wheels w an offset I can get to work on a w204? LOL

Find some wheels u like or u have and post the specs or what u r trying to do. running for example 40/44 is almost no difference than 42/48, the majority here would never know it was different. Ur talking a 16th up front and an 1/8" out back difference, kinda get it? Once you are on coils or supersports ur car will look so much better to you and fit better with aftermarket wheels. The offset isnt as big a deal to the overall look like stock ride height cars. If you carry full loads and passengers alot I would rethink springs like SS. they are kinda bouncy, u lose that MB ride a little, more Bimmerish. Coils are the way to go, almost no difference and some brands ride better than stock.

Thanks again Jimmy. About coils, that is the route I plan on going. Coming from my Audi, I ran Ohlins/Stasis coil overs. With my car I plan on running a set of BC Racing or H&R. I think BC Racing is better feature wise and money wise. But besides that, I continue to ask because I feel there should be enough data out there since this series of car has been out since 2008. I'm sure people have tried and or experienced a number of different setup's that work and don't work. I'm also asking because I'm seeking wheels that may require me to re barrel or change out the lips to get the right offset. I've been looking at the used wheels classifieds, and most high end wheels don't have ET's stamped. As far as my Iforged, I sold them because they continued to rub on dips on the front in the fender lip. I don't really want to roll my fenders. My Iforged was from my Audi, and was a perfect fit.
I guess the look I'm looking for is a flush look, maybe a minimal tuck or half finger gap, but no poke or excessive stretch.... Sorry again Jimmy. I guess I'll just have keep gathering info. You've been very helpful tho. Eventually I'll gather enough info to know the what the limits are vs A and B or even C setups.

no sweat bro, thats why we're here, ask away. IMO coils is the way to go, the ride is sweet and adjustable. I couldnt do it because I have dynamic handling package so springs are the only choice, but I love having paddle shifters and the suspension package/M mode. Im lower than regular SS springs cause of the package I have. When it comes to higher end wheels they are usually made to a certain range of offset, and depending on 2/3 piece you can reverse mount or swap lips/barrels for the combo u want. I would recommend 42-45 up front and 45-50 out back if you want a nice flush look w no rubbing issues so u have no stretch in your tires. U didnt say if you were looking for 18 or 19, that makes a difference too. If your real low u cant really get pokey wheels unless you stretch your tires, think about the way suspension compresses and the travel, its up and in at the same time, you need stretch to clear the arch. There is barely any fender lip on these cars, its 7mm when measured, nothing to really roll, I would never bother personally. With coils you can adjust too so thats a huge help, and the suspension is so easy in these cars. They are fast and easy to change out, easier than springs, you dont have to compress anything, just R+R. Post up the wheels ur thinkin of when u figure it out and Ill tell u what works and what size rubber u need

Listen to jimmy. He knows his ****. About the coilover being easy though, true for some. H&R coilovers didn't come with top strut mounts so you do need to compress the stock ones to reuse the oem top mounts unless you just buy new oem ones. BC racing coilovers I believe come with them if you go that route. I haven't seen anyone with bc racing coilovers yet. I have thought about it but I'm going the air route now.

Air would be awesome. That the only route I haven't tried yet, but it's a little pricey for me, and the lost of trunk space would not work for me. Just got to pick out my wheels that I really want for my sunny/show cruising days, but I am picking up a set of euro 63rs for daily/rainy days. My stocks will be for my winter w/ dedicated snow and ice tires.

Those should work just fine. They are well within the limits of crazy and stock.

they will clear no problem. If you want a tiny bit of stretch go w 215/245 its a better fit for that setup being they are 18s. Otherwise 225/255 is what you want, the setup you posted will have fat straight sidewalls and you dont want that w 18s if you wanna look bigger. Basically 235/265 is a factory size for 8/9 inch wheels, so if thats what you are after go for it. I would to 225/255 if they were my 18s. good luck nice choice, I love those wheels since I seen em on loonies ride, I would buy a set if I could find the offset I want

I didnt know u had to reuse the top factory mount, thats some BS. In that case its just like doing springs only, I hate compressing springs, my first time years ago w my lexus I almost took off my fingers LOL. I did a set in an E coupe and they were 1 piece ready to go just R+R, cant remember who made them. Air is the way to go if your willing to spend the $$ and lose the trunk space, best of everything setup

And pony euro63s will clear any setup, I have my set on now. U can clear the lowest of setups w 42/48 they are good budget wheels if your gonna invest in high ends too. I ride my brabus VIs or Carlssons for shows

Thanks Jimmy,

Considering it is for my wife's car and her specification is to lose as little ride quality as possible it sounds like a little extra tyre and the flat sidewall may be the way to go.

Your help is much appreciated.... As always.

it might, but its not gonna look good. The fronts are pushing it and u may pop a fender if you turn hard and compress the suspension. The backs need 255 to look good anything lower and its stretching it hard. You would need a +44 w 255/35/18 to clear well w SS and regular tires, a little less w skinny brand. Find other wheels, I wouldnt go w that setup personally.........

2008 C300 4matic
Hi, I'm thinking of getting myself a set of 18x8 rims with +45 offset for my 2008 C300 sport and am wondering what tires would be a good fit for them.

Looking at Falken Ziex ze-912, probably either 215 40 R18 or 225 40 R18. I haven't made any other adjustments and would preferably have the same size on all tires.

either size is fine, depends on how fat u wanna go w tires. If your more concerned about having nice wheels and dont mind a little tire go 225, thats a factory style fat straight sidewall. If you want a little less fatness almost straight go 215. Even a 205 would barely be stretching the tire, stock Cs w 18" AMGs have 8 + 8.5 factory w 225/4018 and 245/35/18 staggered setups so you have an idea if you wanna look at stock photos and get an idea how the tire beef is.

Hi everyone just got a 2011 c300 last week and was looking for some new rims I was wondering if I went with a 20 x 8.5 in the front and 20 x 10 in the rear what offset would I have to get so it sits flush and what size tires so there will be no rubbing. The car as of right now is at stock height any suggestions will be appreciated thanks

love the online wealth of knowledge- thanks guys.

I'm on stock suspension and won't be lowering. What are your thoughts on these for a c350? My tire guy wants to go fat on the back with 275's (per below) but I'm skeptical and was thinking 265 as I want a wide and aggressive look but flush

rims (front) 19" x 8.5" (5-112)+40
rims (rear) 19" x 9.5" (5-112) +45
1 HR73-6656-4 Centering Rings (Set of 4) 73mm-66.56mm

if your not lowering it you can run 305's if you want. 275 is a cake walk for stock height.

Thinking of getting the V718's
http://www.velocitymotoring.com/wheels_v718.html

I'm not so sure what offset would be most suitable
18 x 8.5, 5x112, 35, 66.6 would that work all around on my c300?

I would stay away from 20s if it was me. The rears on 20s need to be 25 series 95% of the time and they are 300+ per tire. 19s are under 200 tops, and 20s dont look good unless you do it right. Theres 2-3 guys that have proper 20s on this w204 section its not easy to do. Look at hotelcrazy's thread for some proper 20s..........
