W204's and offsets of wheels
#702
There is no difference in the rear, as the same rwd model's rear drive suspension is used in the 4MATIC.
But up front, the struts were moved on the 4MATIC to make room for the front half/drive shafts. So the front struts are different where they attach at the bottom. And because the exact spring location is different, the OEM springs are not the same, rwd vs 4MATIC ... different part numbers. Sooooooo
THE 4MATIC USES DIFFERENT FRONT SPRINGS AND STRUTS (bolt hole locations) vs THE RWD VERSION OF THE MODEL
It may be possible to put aftermarket front springs for a RWD on a 4MATIC, but the respected Engineers at H&R thought they were different enough to specify different springs, at a significant expense to them. These 4MATIC springs are only available in the Sport version. Eibach and Brabus do not offer any springs for the C300 4MATICS.
At one time I thought Eibach offered the lower drop "Sportline" springs for the RWD C300 W204, but now Eibach does not list them on their website, and I could not find a vendor selling them.

You will be fine with those wheels, but I think you may run a 10mm spacer on the rear for it to sit closer to the fender. Don't forget the longer lugs. You will not rub. Minimal with out modification to our car is ET44 front and rear with rounded shoulder type wheels.

- Suspension: 100% clear (leave even more room than OEM)
- Fenders: Package will stick out 18 mm (0.7'') farther. Make sure that you have enough room under the fender. If not, consider narrower tires or higher offset.
- Wheelwells: Will fill out the wheelwell by extra 4 mm. Almost no difference.
I am now a little bit confuse. If I use 10mm spacer maybe I'd have rubbing issue?

I am running 19x8.5 fronts with a 42ET which is more aggressive than 45ET.
My rear is 19x9.5 with a 48ET with space to give. I only have a slight rub in the front but only on really bad dips. As you can see my rear rim is wider than yours and only .3mm difference. But you know sometimes each car varies, if your on stock height, you will be fine, it's when your lowered that fitment becomes critical.

Thank you very much with your help! But when I checked with this site http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp with this comparisions 245/40R17 ET58 (OEM) and 255/35R18 ET45. I received the advice:

Don't get me wrong! I'm a huge fan of stretch and poke I just know the limits of our fenders and they need lots of work to get that aggressive. I'm hoping it works for you though.

[quote=Cleanbenz;5540272]Yes, they aren't going to work easily if at all. That is some serious stretch and poke. My pic below is 18x9.5 ET 36 with a 215/40 tire, your wheel will poke 11.4mm more than this. You are in the territory of poking tread, not just sidewall. You may be saved by your 205/40 tire size but its cutting it super close.
Cutting it super close is exactly where I want to be at, also forgot to mention that I'm also on air . Any other words you Mind to throw at me? How about the rears bro?

Rears are the same deal, in that pic I was running a 18x9.5 ET 24 with 215/40 tire. Poke will still be 11.4 mm more than what I how in that pic. Camber plates up front are a huge plus as I am looking at running them to get some negative camber for clearance aswell. They could make all the difference. I just test fitted my new wheels today and I decided to go a not more conservative because I've already pulled the fenders with rubbing from the setup in the pics. Here is the new fronts: 18x8.5 ET 35
Rears: 18x9.5 ET 35

Looks good ! OEM springs?
Any change in road feel, vs the old 17" set ? I figured quicker response to steering inputs, but perhaps a little rougher on rough roads, vs previous 17" wheels/tires.

At first here is 2 best summer tires, I don't know which one is better. But finally, I chose Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 with no regret!

Your out of state right? Yeah sorry I do not know how to help you there, except if your willing to ship your SAM here to Washington, someone does it on the side, I'm sure you have read the thread on it. But that would mean shipping cost and down time for you. Sorry I can't point your to a better direction. BUT beefing up the suspension will definitely give you back some good feeling when your driving spiritedly.
