As stated, the car is already lowered with the Eibach pro-kit springs. I also prefer the more "connected" feel this gives. The Eibach springs are offcourse a bit stiffer than stock, but the ride quality is still acceptable (not as harsh as my previous Audi with factory S-line suspension).

As for the wheels, I'll probably go with 18's.
The MB recommended ET's are
18x7.5 - ET 47
18x8 - ET 50
18x8.5 - ET 58
I wonder how these would position the wheel in the wheel arch. Anyone have any good pics of these set-ups?

I can probably get away with a slightly lower ET, but under no cicumstances can the rims poke out of the arches, or the car will fail the mandatory annual tech control.

I'm running 8x18 ET39 & 8x18 ET30 on mine as you can see on page 45 and mine flush, it might look like they poke on the picture but its a perfect flush.

As 04boxster said it makes a world of difference in handling and response from the car when they sit as wide as possible.

Thanks, Becksan.

Your car looks fabulous in all black!
I guess I'll try to find some 18x8 ET 45 wheels (to be on the safe side).

Now if I could only make up my mind on which style wheels to get... choices, choices...

Trying to figure out wheel fitment. I'm new to Mercedes. I've built a couple cars in the past. Currently running stock 17's and lowered on h&r ss on my 2010 c300 4matic. Came across a deal on 20x9 +35. Anyone running this setup? Figured it would be pretty aggressive but might be able to get them to fit with a slightly stretched tire.. Any opinions?

Anyone have some pictures of a stock luxury suspension with 19" rims? I keep debating what will remove the gap between tire and body more (19" or coilovers)

Larger wheel size doesn't necessarily eliminate wheel gap. the larger the wheel gets, the smaller the tire profile gets. this is so that the overall diameter doesn't change or else it starts affecting the speedometer and your actual speed. This is my first MB so, I'm not sure if theres an organic way to compensate when wheel size changes. Other cars need a "speedo healer".
So in regard to your question, coilovers would eliminate wheel gap compared to a different set of wheels.
Unless overall diameter and a correct speedo reading doesn't matter then a larger wheel and tire combo would remove wheel gap, but it would also move the car higher off the ground. Going from 17's to 19's would add one inch in all directions from center, so one inch closer toward fender gap and one inch toward the ground.

I am in search of the perfect wheel specs! I've scoured this thread twice now and have narrowed it down to:

19x8.5 et 40-45 Front
19x9.5 et 45-50 Rear

I'm looking for as flush a fitment as I can get without rubbing or other issues. Not looking to lower anytime soon as well. (I know, it would probably look so much better!)

Also looking for a baby stretch for tires, nothing crazy like a fully exposed lip. A common recommendation I've found is Falken 452's. Would 225 front and 235 rear give that "baby stretch" for the above mentioned specs?

Fronts and rears are rubbing on the fender lips (I think?) when hitting bumps or dips in the road or when pulling into/out of parking lots. Wheels and tires look awesome but the rubbing makes me nervous... All with just me in the car, no cargo or passengers attempted yet. What can I do?
It has to be your tire size in the rear if anything, but are you certain you are rubbing because those offsets aren't aggressive enough to rub on stock suspension.

Hi guys,

I'm looking at a new set of wheels in 19x8.5F ET38 / 19x9.5R ET45 - will be wrapped in Hankook Ventus V2.

What size would you recommend if I want to avoid rubbing? I'm lowered on H&R Super sports. Would it be 225/35 & 255/30 as the optimal setup or? I know a decent amount runs 235/265 but I would be afraid the rear would rub or am I way off?

Hope you can help. Thanks!

Do you have any fender rubbing in the front? I have some on mine.. Similar drop perhaps a bit higher on my car ?

I assume the picture lowering level is set as daily drive?

hi guys, im new to this forum, but really need help here.
i just got my new alloy wheels:

18x8 et 45 (front)
18x9 et 54 (back)

the offset of the wheels should be no problem, now im frustrating about the tires fitment, the original they recommend me:

225/40 r18 (front)
255/35 r18 (back)

is it the tires thick enough to protect my new wheels? safe to use?

hhmm, 'perfect wheel specs' is very subjective. If you want to keep it inside the guards, I suspect you will do fine with the sizes you mentioned.

For tyres, check out www.tyrestretch.com
Just click on the tyre and rim size you are considering and you will get a bunch of pics of those tyres mounted on rims

Thanks for the input. I've been to tyrestretch.com but they don't have photos of the specs I'm looking for.

Hey guys need your opinins/guidance.

I've picked up a set of Avant Garde M510s.

19 x 8.5 +35 and 19 x 9.5 +40

245/40/19 F
255/35/19 R

They came with tires installed. According to the information in this thread they seem to be too tall. However I am on stock suspension (2012 C300 Sport) and I was wondering if I would still run into rubbing issues? I wanted to do a test fit but I'm waiting on some bolts to install these.

You will rub. I have the same wheel fitment lowered on hr ss and I have 225/35/19 and 255/30/19 and occasionally rub.

19" C63 Multispokes

Hey guys looking for some input here...

I have a 09 C300 4matic sport. I'm looking to get some C63 Multispoke wheels... the ones i'm looking at have the following stats...

-8" Front with 235/35/19 + 45 offset
-9" Rear with 255/30/19 + 54 rear offset

My car is currently running H&R Sport Springs...

Wiil these wheels/tires rub?

Also i'm looking at a set of winter tires for these wheels as well. The winter tires have the same stats except the rear tire is a 265 instead of a 255... Will either of these setups rub?
