K&N is really the only choice. Although, I doubt throttle response would be noticeably improved. You would benefit more from resetting the TCU (transmission control unit). If the throttle response still isn't to your liking you could purchase and install a Sprint Booster (relatively easy) and this will virtually eliminate your delay.

I haven't done K&N to my car as I have hard some people's MAF getting screwey from the oil needed (I hear its uncommon, and only happens from over lubricating with oil, but I don't wanna chance it as I would probably put on way too much).

If you want a better sound, I, and MANY forum members have installed x-pipes to the exhaust system. Hands down best mod for improving the sound of the car, and relatively cheap too.

You will get a different roar sound out of your exhaust but it will not get louder, you also gain some extra horse power and a little deferent engine sound.

That statement is true the problem is over lubrication

I recall seeing one or two people post saying they had an issue crop up with K&N filter on their w204 with the MAF throwing codes. I can't find those specific threads anymore, but if you do a simple google search on it, you can see other people talking about the same issue I was.

http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w204...placement.html

At the above link someone else mentions this "oiling" issue, and recommends K&N equivalent air filters that don't need to be oiled.

Try out that video. I made that one of my car (c300 4matic) and all I have had done to it is just the magnaflow x-pipe with stainless steel piping to extend the entire span to replace the resonator.

Pretty much besides for the "negligible" power increase, if there even is one - jury can still be out on that. And the change in front-end growl (I haven't heard one in person to confirm this). The definite benefit is that you no longer need to replace your air-filters. The OEM ones are paper and aren't reusable, so every 30,000 miles (I believe that is the interval) you have to buy new ones.

Where as K&N or other aftermarket filters on the other hand are re-usable, so since they are about the same price (maybe a bit more than OEM) after 2 filter changes they start to pay off.

Personally, if you were going to go with the upgrade, I would get the ones mentioned that don't need oil lubrication. You can't go wrong there.

Thanks for the compliment on the exhaust.
