I told everyone I would make a how to video so here it is. Please excuse the text in the middle of the clips as the program I used to convert it was a free version. I hope you enjoy and if there are any questions please feel free to ask!

no need to remove the mirror. You can just pop the chrome piece up like you did and then pull. It slides out and when you're done, you can slide it back in.

I didn't want to risk rubbing the paint off sliding it under the mirror. It was simply precautionary and better safe than sorry

Will do! With the lower trim pieces, does the rubber come off, or do you still have to slide the tape under the rubber?

I guess this video also doubles as a DIY for how to remove the mirror for that LED mirror cover on Ebay. Except this is just how to remove the housing from the car, but not how to remove the panel from the mirror. Additionally, I also know how to remove the tweeter in this video! Thanks!

Would it be ok to just remove upper chrome without putting it back? I had the lower chrome vinyl wrapped and it took me a long time

No because it will leave a gap and the clips/holes would be visible
