Just thought I'd post I picked up my new C250 CDI today in Sydney Australia.

Options wise, it's just the Avantgarde model with the Vision pack (sunroof, bi-xenons and h/k sound) and the Driver Assistance Package Plus pack (distronic plus/bas plus/pre-safe brake, active blind spot assist and lane keeping assist).

Key difference from American models I think is it has COMAND APS Online however since I have an iPhone 4, it's not compatible with data tethering!

Feel free to ask me anything! And as an FYI I traded in my beloved Evo X MR for this car... yes I'm only 23, but I felt like I needed something a bit different and more mature. And less attention grabbing!

Sure!

ps. I'm amazed it can display asian characters (i.e. Chinese, Japanese, etc). First time I've ever seen that in an audio system let alone a factory system.

Wowsers! I didnt realise that the C250CDI is out already here!

How much did you end up paying for all that? Which dealer did you go to?

I'm jealous more than anything. The only other car I know of that displays Asian characters is the S class. Congrats on the ride. The interior is sweet

Bought it from Morrissons on corporate package. Happy to PM if you want more details but I assume it's meaningless unless you are also from Sydney (due to differing state taxes/etc). Also note it was EOFY so I pushed hard

ps. Your username sounds oddly familiar... not from my EvoOz days but maybe from my OzHonda days? Or it could just be a common username.

LOL I haven't tried in the S Class yet because my uncle uses CDs (which don't have tags) still rather than an iPod!

Thought you'd be interested to know the in-dash screen also can display Chinese characters.

Here are a couple of other shots for those interested:

Btw do you guys know why my rear window looks like this? Suitable for tinting still? According to the specs list, the car has "green-tinted windows all round, rear windscreen with single-layer safety glass".

"green-tinted" means that it has UV protection on the windows (polarized like tint). But yeah, you can apply another layer of tint on top of it.

Almost as much torque as the E500 V8 engine from only a 2.1 L inline 4 diesel. America, take note.

Thanks for that. I'll get it tinted black this weekend.

It amazes me that diesel isn't more popular in the States considering the distances and the love for torque but I'm guessing it's due to the cheap petrol that you guys have.

Are you referring to the actual emblem itself? On normal models it's an actual 3d Mercedes emblem but I have the Distronic Plus option fitted (with the Driver Assistance Plus pack) which has the radar behind the grille.
