Carbon Fiber hoods out there???

Okay... So the last cosmetic thing I have to do to my baby is a new CF hood. I've been researching for hours and the only company I could find was ViS. They are a good company from what I hear but I'm not paying 2 grand for a new hood.

I found this one on Ebay and it is exactly the style I was going for...

I want to know if anyone has dealt business with them or if I should go ahead and pull the trigger with them. I'm scared cuz the are based in China....

What is to prevent this from turning yellow and fading in the sun from U.V. just like any other carbon fiber? Especially at this price... The UV-blocking chemical additive to the clear coat costs $60,000 a gallon and the clear coat with the additive mixed in comes to about $2,000 a gallon - legitimately... Which is why the quality carbon fiber parts that resist UV discoloration cost so much and the cheap stuff turns yellow.

From what I heard- Stone Carbon is a reputable CF producer. I think it looks great.

Stone carbon is pretty darn reputable. I believe Keith AKA Dad's C63 sourced his CF hood/trunk production to these guys. (Not 100% on that though)

That's what I heard but wasn't 100%. I can ask Keith, but I don't know if he wants his sources revealed.
Shipping sounds high for Economy Shipping. I realize its overseas, but that still sounds high. I would check to see what Keith was charging.

Couple of the C63 guys are running Stone Carbon products. When I contacted them initially to get them to make one for us C300/C350, they wanted me to buy the hood AND the mold. I was like wtf, what am I going to do with the mold? Total cost was over $2k lol. Looks like since then they've come out with one on their own which looks good, although I'd like to see it mounted on a C300/C350 to see fitment.

Damn, that is actually pretty nice. I'm looking forward to seeing some real life pictures. (I would also like to see the bottom if you could snap a pic or two of that as well)

They are selling the truck lid on ebay too. Hope it works out for you as I have been trying to find a good source for the hood and truck lid. Keep us posted.
