What should be the correct engine temperture?

Hi All,

Just wondering what is the normal engine temperture for C300? I snapped this picture this morning and it just seems a bit high to me. Is it normal? Thank you!

Picked up my car a week ago. My temp gauge is exactly where yours is at.

Mine is the same. I had the same question but never think it's abnormal. Now I know it's right on.

Really? So it is about 190 F, which will be out of the upper limit on the temp meter. Or, the meter represents the average cooling fluid temperature not the temp right at the thermostat?

The capital "C" on the gauge, next to the thermometer icon means the gauge is read in Celsius, so what we see in the photo matches the numbers Glynn reported.

Oh thank you so much for pointing that out. I never looked at it closely and assumed it is F in the State.

That would be fair. If it would not clear all the confusion, at least everyone would be equally confused.

Plus he was holding his phone with both hands while snapping the pic, the first one came out blurry, so then had to change the camera focus settings to "macro" and then took another pic.

Lucky he waited until he was at the red light of the offramp that he created this thread and uploaded the pic.

It's ok. That is normal driving behavior in Cali. To them the Speed Limit sign means the min. you can go. He was probable actually being passed for going to slow on the 405!
