not sure i can get cheaper than that with less miles for a newer model. trust me, i've looked long and hard and can't find a "better deal". has navigation, which is key.

Its half price. And its got the HK system. If this C300 has the MB service records up to date, there is not much difference between this and a CPO. Don´t see Bi-Xenon lights listed though.

And the badge says 4Matic. Sounds like a deal to me.

According to Edmunds, that car is worth :

$20,159 trade in
$22,305 private party
$24,314 retail

Looking at Auto Trader, there are 198 MB C300's with similar options for sale nationwide :

$33,987 high
$23,877 low
$29,422 average

I would say the price is fair - see if they will knock another $600 off and go for it...

I'd want to know why it doesn't have the original wheels.

Not absolutely certain, but thought that style didn't come out until later.

cool. i'll give it a shot. btw, i test drove this car and it was fantastic. will take it for a pre-purchase inspection in the next couple of days. if anything comes back that is questionable, it's a no go.

I think the wheels are ok ( same as the one on Auto Trader listed for $23,877 ) :

Not a bad deal with Nav, Sunroof, Leather, and HK system. Miles look about normal for daily 3 year old car. Not being certified kinda sucks though. Lexus offering any kind of warranty?

Do a carfax on it. Just because there's miles left on the warranty doesn't mean there are years left on it. You'd be borderline with a 2008 because some 2008's are built in 2007.

checked the carfax. 5 months left on the factory warranty. the mileage on the car is a little scary AND the fact that it's not a certified vehicle have me feeling a little leary.

If it had been CPO'd it would only add another 12 months to your 5 remaining months. However, a CPO would also add $$$ to the price.

Also understand that no dealer is going to CPO a 3 and a half old vehicle... So if this is your price range and you're OK with the # of miles, I wouldn't let the CPO/nonCPO issue weigh much on my decision.

As someone else said, if you can get the dealership to knock off $600 - $1k from the price, I say go for it. Did you already get the pre-purchase inspection done at an MB dealership?

I would definitely get some sort of extended warranty -either from the Lexus dealership, or aftermarket. Ask your local MB dealership which 3rd party extended warranty they work best with. Mine gave me a name with P (and a brochure - I'll find it this evening and let you know; I plan to buy it if I decide to keep my car after my CPO warranty runs out.)

Another round of ICE
Was the trunk open in the photos? Not sure if it's lighting, shadows, etc. but the trunk fit looks poor in those pictures, and raises the suspicion of bodywork. Even if the Carfax is clean, go over the trunk lid very closely.

was going to get the pre-purchase done a couple days ago but, didn't, for whatever reason. the inspection is a must for whatever car that i decide on.

i tried to haggle the price a little but, the dealer was unwilling to budge, today might be a different story. if he's unwilling to budge between today and tomorrow then, it's a no go for me.

if you happen to come across the info, please pass it along.

Here's the name: PROTECTIVE Asset Protection Division (The VIP Plan; VIP = Vehicle Increased Protection). The phone number for their administrative office is 1-800-242-9442.

The MB dealership that gave me this brochure is part of the Autonation group. I'd check your local MB dealership and see if you'd have any issues if you went with these guys.

Here's some verbiage from the brochure: The VIP Plan vehicle service contract program is administered by Lyndon Property Insurance Company, also a Protective company. In Florida, the VIP Plan is administered by Western General Warranty Corporation, Florida License #60078, P.O.Box 820, Deerfield, IL 60015.

Hope this helps!

That's a C300 Lux and those are the original wheels. Mine now have winter tires on them.

I see it's not a P2 car so no Bi-Xenons, folding seats or LED rear turn lights. And I'll bet it does NOT have leather. And the sunroof is standard.

The dreary color with black tex inside is depressing.

It can be better than a CPO warranty but very expensive.

I'll be buying one in a few months to tide me over another two years while I wait for the W205.
