Clear-Coat Peeling?

I noticed this morning that the clear on the gloss black strips (the ones for the roof rack mounts) was coming off. Has this happened to anyone else? Any chance this is covered under warranty? Car is an '09 C300 37K on the O.D. Any help is much appreciated!

Thanks, Bayou

Another round of ICE
From looking at my car, I am fairly certain this is not a painted part but is made through a process called "mold in color" using black plastic resin. The top glossy surface seems to be delaminating. The part should be a warranty repair, which will likely require being replaced.

Mine's doing the same thing. I'll have to take it to the dealer sometime.

If dealer wont fix it then buy some carbon fiber wrap and heat shrink it to the strip!

I thought about using blackout tape, but I'm afraid if it keeps peeling the tape will bubble. Does anyone know if and or how to remove them?

Not sure how but they can be removed since the dealer "replaced" mine.

They just pop off from the front end first and work them back. There are plastic clips and a few usually break.

In any case, this is a warranty fix.
