How to use HOLD function in new C class?
.
However, this morning I was stopped at lights and the engine autostop kicked in, so the engine stopped. I applied the brake HOLD function and all good. The junction was a bit mad, so I was sat there for a bit, then the engine restarted as the autostop timed out and the brakes released and the car started to move forward. Very disconcerting!!!
So at the next lights i did the same again, but this time pressed the deactivate on the autostop and the engine started up, but the brakes remained on!.
So the question is, what is supposed to happen?
I would have thought that the brakes should not release unless i want them too, not when the autostop times out?
What experience do you guys have of this???
Thanks.
Brake HOLD feature, which I have used for 11 years in my 2014 C300, is suddenly intermittent for the last 2-3 weeks.
Some days it works for a while, or only after a few miles, and others it doesn't work at all. Others it works right away, all day. The last month I have noticed it fails in a similar scenario that may have worked the day before. Brake pedal doesn't feel more or less stiff than anytime in the last decade. Wondering if this sounds like regular wear after a decade or so, or first time you've heard of this failing inconsistently? Maybe time to buy a data port reader to see if there is something off, or just bring it to the dealership and set my money on fire?

Forgot to check 12V battery directly, but OBD2 reader said the "Control Module Voltage" was 7-8V while engine was off, then shot up to 13-14V while the engine was idling and I drove a little. Not sure that tells me anything about the 12V battery. If I drive about 4 miles for my commute (same for 11 years) is that enough to keep the 12V battery topped up? About 80% surface streets. Less than 2 mins on the highway.
How do I check AUX battery (new to me)?
