Just ordered my first Mercedes
Today's been the start of culminating a lifelong dream for me. I've been a Mercedes fan since I was about 4 - and at 29, I just ordered my first one.
I've been working with several dealers online to get the price down to what I wanted, but I wanted to buy the car from the dealership that I have a preexisting relationship with. I didn't think they would ever go down to the price I wanted but today I went up to get my trade appraised and make the deal. There were a few options that I thought were "gotta haves" (Sunshade, parktronic, rear side airbags) - but after a lot of thought decided I didn't need them.
They lowballed me on my smart pretty badly, and I started to leave. After shoving that mess aside, we moved on to work the deal on my C. I threw out a really lowball offer, and the guy I am working with called it just that. I pointed to the offer they gave me for my smart and pointed out that it was a huge lowball as well. That was pretty much the end of negotiations, and I am coming out at about $2,500 below invoice for the car.
I waited a year for my smart, so I should be used to this - but I think the wait until February for my delivery might just kill me.

Congrats! I waited three months for mine, and I spent my time reading the owner's manual (online) front to back... When the time came to "explain" the stuff in my car, I knew more about it than the salesguy!

so you got a launch package and the 6 spokes with a spoiler with lighting, how come they couldn't dealer locate you one? We have that exact car sitting on our lot in FL?
Ps most of us h8 smart cars, the only people that have issues with anything ever at our place is smart customers, we treat them as 2nd class citizens because they act like they spent 200k on a S65 and expect to be treated like an MB cust. A smart is a evil little go cart that cost 15k not even half of the start price of a merc. A smart guy just called to wine about his ROOF rack that he purchased and had us install because it "wasn't" what he expected and wanted a refund for it and the labor. He's outa his mind, if we should eat anything because they didn't research it and adding 10lbs to that turd of a car prob made it slower, buzzier and more awful then it already was. /end rant
