225/60/16 AMG rim on C350 ?

Hello All,
I just got my 08 C350 AMG package a month ago and now shopping around for rims for winter tires to prepare for Canadian winter. My current OEM AMG wheels are:
front - 225/45/17 17x7.5 ET 47
back - 245/40/17 17x8.5 ET 58

But, I found a used AMG rim set from S500 2005 model with the following specs:
225/60/16 - 7.5JX16H2ET 46 product # A2204010102
bolt 5x112

I'm just wondering if these rims will fit my car.

I would appreciate any help I can find here.

Check and see how much brake caliper clearance you got with the 17's on there right now. The 16's may not clear...

Thanks for your suggestion. I'm a real newbie at this... How do I check for that?

16" could potentially clear. There are members as well as my witnessing many cars (canadian c300/c350) using 16".

If possible, try test fitting on your car...

I have a smaller C250 with these rims. They are not AMG, real amg used 17" back then. Also, wheel bolts were a PITA to buy, i went through 2 sets finding the right length.

The wheel bolts for those wheels are very different. you would need R14 ball seat with 40mm length up front. the original S-class used 45mm and they are too long for the C-class 4-matic front axles. The rears didnt have a problem using 45mm.

Stock bolts are R13 ball seats with 27mm shank length i think.

qaz393, Thanks for your valuable information. You are right, it's not AMG.

Does the fact that my current setup is AMG sport and these rims are the regular Mercedes ones make any different in terms of fitment concerns? I saw in the Mercedes site that they have different winter packages for AMG and non AMG cars.

All C350 uses the same brake caliper, however, MB doesnt recommend 16" rims due to fitment issues. However, some people has had used 16" without problem, but the fitment was tight. These rims might clear your brakes.

You should factor in the cost of new Bolts too since you would need to get another set as your stock ones will NOT work.

I would not recommend these rims. looks ugly on my car =(

Thank u for the advice. I think I'll use the 225/45/17 winter tires on my current rims and look for other options later. Maybe I'll upgrade to 18 inches wheel for the summer tires.

go with 245 in the back!! cost 20 bucks more. will help protect better from curbs compared to 225 on 8.5 inch rims. i will not recommend 225 on 8.5
