Quad Exhaust on a C180 / C250 with pictures
Hello peeps,
It seems more and more people are having a C250 here on this forum, so i though i start a thread to show you what i did with my C180 exhaust.
The original exhaust is a single muffler, dual tip configuration on the passenger side. I have a RHD model.
The finished exhaust will look like this.
The driver side has a black panel which you can easily remove to show a void area where your other muffler should be.
Screening plates installed.
Plate 1 and part number
Plate 2 and part number
Plate 3 and part number
Exhaust cut and weld after the OEM cat. (You see the y pipe as there is only one down pipe from the engine
Exhaust installed on the other side.
Clipped to the Y-pipe for easier installation. But i've since welded it permanatly.
Reuse the OEM mounting positions for the other exhaust.
OEM C63 facelift diffuser and partnumber
Finished product
Notes :-
The sound from the 4 cylinder in my set up was just nice to my personal preference. It's not too loud and has a soft rumble when you start the engine. At higher RPMs, you'd hear a tad more, but it's a rather deep note.
After the exhaust, i had the car on a dyno and it gave me 150HP to the wheel with 240Nm. (Mine is a C180, so your milage may vary)
Well the exhaust cost GBP699 + GBP125 shipping from here
The diffuser cost me USD400 from the local dealer here.
Exhaust heat screening plates (optional but since i'm making that investment, another 200 bucks won't matter) from the dealership costs:-
Right Outer - A204 680 0222 - BND65
Right Inner - A204 682 8471 - BND80
Right Spare Wheel Well - A204 682 4671 - BND38
If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
I've also done a DIY for a K&N air filter replacement for the C180s and C250s

2012 C250 Coupe
Nice write-up and great pics. Depending on if I go with the C250 or c350 coupe I may or may not have to reference this. Any chance you could get a soundclip up of it? I have never heard the exhaust on a c250 yet...
Also, you mentioned that the heat shields are optional. I probably won't be adding them since the car is a lease and it is less to install and un-install. I doubt this would be a problem, the mufflers don't get THAT hot...
I also may just get 2 extra exhaust tips, and y-pipe straight from the resonator and straight pipe to the quad tips.

The person in charge of the parts are pretty helpful.
They even got their staff to bring down a few diffuser to see if they fit as the 2012 are pretty new and not in their system yet.
The diffuser brackets are wrong numbers, so i just got the body shop to rivet the parts with a custom made bracket..

But how did you get away with it? AFAIK, Brunei have a no mods policy!
I used to get tickets very often for just a simple mod like installing fog lights, sport rims, over size tire, tint, ect
Oh...I miss the orig Nasi Lemak!
Terimah Kasih...kawan
