should i do my oil change
on a side note does anyone know of a DIY thread for coils and subs? I did a quick search and nothing on coils and subs were all self contained subs.

I will see what I would do after the first oil change.

Google the Magnuson-Moss warranty act. Unless they can prove you caused it/something you did to the vehicle directly caused a problem, they cannot void your warranty or deny a claim. Additionally, they cannot void the entire warranty on a vehicle over something such as this.
Example: You replace your stock exhaust system, now they will not cover warranty issues for the exhaust. They can't deny you a broken power seat motor because of this... etc.

Service advisor received an email from his manager saying if it is not a full service such as Service A, he can't reset the service reminder. I got an email before his recent email and was told they can reset it upon customer's request. I said I will reset it myself.

I'd do 1st filter and oil change early in 6 mos and/or 5K miles if you live in a very hot climate, as the factory fill is a relatively light 5W-30 oil.
Many MB Dealers are now using Mobil1 ESP Formula M 5W-40 oil, which had recently been limited to diesel engines only. Most suggest Mobil1 0W-40 instead, a better oil. ( Castrol 0W30 for cold climates ).
What model C300 do you have?

year, model, if it's a diesel, Sport or Lux, 4MATIC or RWD, Location (city & state), and non-US country if applicable.
This helps others respond to issues, like tires, part sales, etc. Thanx

However, if I could go back in time, I'd probably change the oil or take it in for an "oil only" change about the 5k mile mark.
There will be a good bit of break in metals in there right now and there still will be for the first 2-3 oil changes, however, the most will be right now.
Therefore, if I could go back in time, I'd take the car in at about that mark for an oil only change (and still do my regular service when the maintenance indicator recommended it).
Now, if you are close to the regular service, like just a couple months, you might not want to do this now.
Also, if you're only going to be putting on 1-2k more miles before regular A service, that would be another reason to just wait.

However, the Mercedes cars of today require synthetic oil, so you won't be doing any switching. On a gasoline powered Mercedes, you must use 229.5 spec oil.
