looking to add a little bass

Simplest, most affordable option is a self-powered subwoofer like the Infinity BassLink. My former cars were full-blown custom, competition audio systems, so I craved the bass response that was lacking from the stock system. I didn't want to fil half of my trunk with a box, subs, and amps again, so this is what I tried based ont he recommendations of fellow C/C63 owners. It is not perfect, but does an incredible job fo something so small, unobtrusive, and affordable.
I met up with a fellow forum member and let him listen to it for a while and I he is now installing one for himself.

Thanks a bunch for the reply. That looks like a really good option. Self-powered would be nice and I want to keep as much trunk space as possible. I just want a little extra "clean" bass. Nothing more. What does the install look like? Anything else you'd recommend?

Then tell it that it looks pretty. Sorry, couldn't resist.

Hi guys,

I have the Audio 20 as well. I am no mechanic/DIY-er, so I intend to send it to a shop to get it done, nevertheless how hard is the install?

Also, does anyone notice that the Audio 20 is lacking in the highs too?

I agree with the Basslink.

I'm the member refered to above and had the subwoofer installed Saturday. I fits my needs and gives me all of the punch I want without taking up half of my trunk.

You can't beat it for the price, $199, and it only cost me $100 to have it installed. I love having the remote signal adjustment within reach so I can adjust the bass depending on the song and my mood.

How civilised & sensible.

I don't know what Audio system you have fitted but gentle use of the parametric equaliser facility might also help. Use with caution & record default settings before fiddling to ensure you can get back to factory settings.

Acapulco Bill has it installed under his rear deck and seemed happy with the performance. It is not a well-known high-end brand, but Crutchfield is great in regards to customer service and returns. He has also upgraded the factory speakers to Infinity's.
Personally- I don't know how a 8" off-brand sub could compare to the Infinity 10" w/10" passive radiator.

Most of those are designed to be hatchback style enclosures.
If money is not really an issue I recommend the following:
1. JL Audio 13TW5-3 Shallow mount subwoofer http://www.jlaudio.com/13tw5-3-car-a...-drivers-92181
2. Jl Audio XD300/1 amp http://www.jlaudio.com/xd300-1-car-a...plifiers-98266
3. Custom enclosure from local stereo shop
This setup is extremely compact and will probably cost around $1200 installed. It will provide the additional low-end the Harmon-Kardon system lacks and you will not be disappointed.

I'd go with 2 8" DDs or something else of good quality that needs very little breathing room????
