I'll say this one more time im done after that Message Fishcakes on ebay he will sell you a kit with HIDS pre installed. Or buy a set of DDM or any other HID kit with canbus compatability and you drill a hole in the cover yourself and install. I and other members have said all this information before READ THROUGH THE TREAD BEFORE ASKING QUESTION"S THAT HAVE BEEN ANSWERED. Any other questions that have not been covered I will gladly answer thanks.

BTW, the shutter issue is NOT resolved. I went out for a drive last night to test them out, and the HID high beam would intermittently stick in the ON position. Halogen high beams work, but really only are useful for lighting up the sides of the road. No amount of flicking on/off changed it. Totally random.

Dang! I noticed that these have disappeared from ebay and must be out of stock. Maybe the new batch will have this sorted??

So my 55w DDMs are still in china. Getting antsy and may buy a set of Kensun's off amazon prime. Is it okay to use 35w HIDs or do I need to stick with 55w? Can I switch between? I'll have to buy a separate canbus thing with them

Side note: when I asked fishcake about the preinstalled HIDs, they told me they were sold out (so I snatched up the pair without HIDs). Parts4euro told me they expect a new shipment of headlights in 2 months.

Stick with 35w. Kensuns would probably be higher quality than the DDM. You could always install them and just use the halogen 9005 bulb that comes with them until your hid kit arrives. No need to wait to install.

Thanks man. I just figured it would be easier to install the hid bulbs before installing the headlights.I think OEM bi-xenon's typically use 35w ballasts and 4300k bulbs, so I went ahead and bought the 35w-5000k kensuns and the can bus kit on amazon for ~$60.
They should get here Sunday, so I'll provide an update and pics when I'm done installing all of it. I'll swap in the 55w-5000k DDMs if I'm unhappy with these

Interesting. I wonder if the shutter issue is due to the hid bulbs being a smudge longer than the 9005 halogens and thus they aren't offering? That was their first excuse for why mine stuck (I had installed a morimoto kit). Just a thought....but it seems like everyone who has had shudder issues have had it on the drivers side.

Is there a way to disable the high beam to minimize the shutter stuck issue? I never use it anyways

When I asked someone from Parts4Euro about whether or not the shutter issue had been fixed, he mentioned that the problems seem to occur only when people use HIDs. Maybe your're onto something there.

Just got the headlights today! They look great physically (can't comment on the light output or install until Sunday). Literally the only thing it's missing is the text on the projector housing that says "Mercedes Intelligent Lighting System" or whatever. One thing that bothered me was that I thought the DEPO lights were German? Or is that just the projectors? My headlights definitely say made in Taiwan on the back...

You can unplug the shutter on the inside of the headlamp if you want to disable just the shutters and still leave the h7 cornering (high beams) working.

HIDS versus Halogen bulbs wouldn't make a difference so don't believe that. Like I said before it needs to be shaved almost I tapped on the top of the housing and it fell back down. This was in super warm Florida so heat expands it and its getting stuck witch when the highs are on creates more heat. I bet in winter they wont stick its a slight mess up. In a controlled test indoors I beat this doesn't happen.

I went to ppick up my set from fishcake in person last week and met Chris, super nice guy and very willing to help with any issue. They are real business with a big warehouse and many employees. Here is what I know and hope answer some of the question:

-they only left a couple pair of headlights, the next shipmentwill be in a couple months.
-the hid and nonhid headlight is actually the same unit. It is just they have technican install hid set onto the headlight before ship to us.
-I just installed the lights today, super love it, somehow I feel the led c is brighter and whiter than the OEM from what I have seen in the pictures
-the headlight is a huge upgrade from my OEM lights, fitment is 95% fit, taking the headlight out from the half way open bumper need a little extra effort and caution.
-remove the grill require pushing the bottom line of the grill toward engine.
-the beam cut off is super clear.
-my installation is only 75% done as my left side HID low beam doesnt come on even I switch the ballast, could be a bad bulb, may need to go back to fishcake to have them check.
-will try to take some pictures once it's fixed

Is it difficult? How do you do it? I'm gonna bring it to a shop to install the headlights. Should I just tell them to do it?

You can do it yourself. Just remove the back round bulb cover on the headlight by twisting, and you can see inside 2 small blue wires that come from under the projector. Follow it to the connector and just unclip. This is only for the shutter so you will still be able to "flash" your high beams at people using the cornering lights that come on when you the high beams on.

I can't find any of these anymore unless it's a dealer that is attempting to mark them up $100+ dollars.

Does anyone see them for sale in the $400 range?

Weird, I ordered from them last week and they called me to cancel the order because the headlight had a defect. I don't understand why they would re-list it.

That is weird....especially since it says they have 10+ left. I was thinking about ordering from them but will probably call before I do.

After a long day working in my garage, the lights are up and running! The right headlight fitment is 100% like OEM. For some reason the gap on top of the left headlight around the hood is much more pronounced (I would say fitment is 90%). I tried many, many times re-seating the headlight to see if I somehow misaligned it, but I really think its just a manufacturing variance...oh well. I am probably the only one that will notice that. As others said, the cut-offs are fantastic. The parking lights and turn signals are high quality and make my car look so much better.

The Kensun 5000Ks look very good. No yellow at all, and much less blue than the 6000Ks on here. On the right side, I mounted the ballast and canbus unit using zipties. On the left side I kind of wedged them in there between the fender and that cylindrical thingy like someone else did. The only lingering issue is the cutoffs were aimed absurdly low out of the box, so it is going to take a lot of tinkering to adjust them properly. Overall I am extremely happy with the results!

Install tip: The OEM power supply that connects into the bottom of the headlight (the big rectangular greenish blue plug) is a royal pain in the *** to remove. Be deliberate when trying to remove it because I broke the little plastic pin on my first try. The lights still work and the plug seems to be solid without the little plastic hinge, but be careful!

I'm going to bring the headlights to a shop to install because i have 0 handy man skills. Do you guys think i should disable to shutter just in case (to avoid another trip and save $$) or just wait and see. I never use the high beam ever (and i don't flash people )

I would leave them enabled. They wouldn't stick unless you used the high beams....so if you never use them there is no chance they get stuck "open".

I found the other way is my left headlight fit perfect, but my right headlight is 90% fit, I might loosen the bolts and readjust them a bit more.

I totally agree the pin connector is a pain to remove. But I figured with a philip screw driver, it helps to remove it. hard to describe how it works with words.
