I did my facelift this morning...

Took about 2hrs solo but I'd recommend getting help especially when putting the bumper back on and getting headlights in and out.

No major problems... Fairly simple once you watch the vid on pg18. (Thanks to poster).

Watch outs...
Full beams are halogens and look weird
Ordered 4300k but think I got something else (need to check at night)
Got some little AMG valve caps in the box (thanks!)
Don't leave phone on engine and start car to check headlights...

Looks nice! I ordered 6000K. I see yours are already semi-blue... I hope I'm not too blue on the color of the light. We'll see.

did you shave the side markers?

Thanks! Yeah they look blueish to me so I don't think I got the 4300k like I ordered...

Also I have the shutter issue on my right headlight which is annoying... So I'll be contacting USR to see what they say.

Lastly, yes I ditched the side markers and the blue tech badges for a cleaner look.

Whoever did the work to shave your side marker lights did a great job! Can't even tell anything was there!

Very nice! The latest group buy still has some issues with the sticking shutter. I think I'm going to hold off on buying then.

Thanks for the heads up.

Well thats a bummer. Part of the reason I bought these this time was because the shutter issue was supposed to be fixed according USR. To everybody who bought in the group buy, please post your feedback on the headlights. I'll be getting mine this Tuesday. If everyone is having this problem again, I won't even install them and return for a full refund.

That sucks. I returned my first pair I got from the initial ebay run from the fishcake guy for this. I think I was the first one to complain about it and they gave me crap about it and said it was my fault....had to pay return shipping. Anyhow, hopefully USR will be better to deal with. I have a feeling the shutter issue has to do with the hid bulbs being a bit longer than the halogen bulbs. Maybe someone should stick with the halogens and see if that makes a difference. These would still look great with some philips diamond vision bulbs in the projector housing.

I ran these wth Philips diamond visions and crystal visions for a while and the output is complete garbage. Immediately went back to HIDs after 2 days.

I'll be pretty upset if I go through the trouble of changing the headlights to find out that my new ones are defective...

I haven't installed mine yet just opened one box today to check them out. Is anyone else reporting issues with the shudder?

For those who have received your order and have any issues with them, please contact us from our website or simply shoot a PM to us so we can help you resolve it.

First thing first, we sent all the orders according to the color you specifically stated, and for xenon, it is normal that during the start up time, the color appears to be bluer than normal operating color after the initial warm up time. And from the HID bulb itself, we can ask you to verify the bulb color yourself if you PM us. Thanks.

As for shutter issue, all headlights have been vigorously tested before shipped, that is why you will see QC (Quality Control) marking on the headlight, to make sure all HID works, shutter works, LED works, tabs perfect, joint perfect. And we also have marking so we know this is from the latest batch that has the shutter issue resolved. But if you have encountered any issue, please contact us immediately so we can look into, thank you.

Best Regards,

Unique Style Racing (USR)

USR, do you know what type of HID bulb is used in the preinstalled kit? is it an HID D2S, D2R, etc? or is it an H7?

It uses 9005 size for the high/low projector.

I think the problem is that the shutter works fine when it is tested or the high beams are flashed. On the ones I had the shutter would stick open once the high beams have been on for a few mins. If I just had the high beams on for a few seconds they worked perfect. Once the shutter sticks, it may or may not fall until you tap on it. Any chance you could try to test with the high beams on for a few mins? It may be difficult to replicate the scenario where these stick while on the bench.

I wonder what the issue is with exactly. Could the projector and/or the bulb and harness just be replaced with something from theretrofitsource? I would rather do this than send the headlights back and forth

I looked into this before and I am 99% sure the answer is yes. But if you are going to all this work it probably would be better to just retrofit your existing headlights with projectors. Someone posted some info about doing that to a c63 and the result looked great. However, assuming the shutter is resolved these aftermarket lights are great.

True, but I much prefer the glowing "C" daylight over the normal stock housing. Also having a new set of lights means that I do not have to have my car out of commission if I send them out for a business to do them

Nobody else has installed these yet?? Surprising considering over 30 people bought these.

I just got mine today after some fedex delivery hassles. I might try to install them tomorrow after work

Just got mine yesterday. I'll install over the weekend. I sure hope the shutter issue is not a problem for me.

Fedex attempted to deliver the headlights yesterday while I was at work and it required a direct signature

should be picking them up today and installing hopefully this weekend. let's all try to post some pics up of finished installs.

BTW, for those of you who have already installed them, any fitment/gap issues?

The lights have three mounting points that have threaded inserts. The treaded inserts can be adjusted both up and down and side to side (as the bolt is much smaller than the diameter of the hole). In addition, the lights have up and down and side to side beam adjusters. You will likely need to make some adjustments on the mounting points to get the lights to sit perfect. However, the same would be said of new oem lights as well which have the same adjustment points. Expect a bit of trial and error.

Just installed the headlights, After a quick drive I noticed condensation on both headlights. Also the cut off seems to be really low and I can barely see anything driving. I noticed the cutoff glares are really uneven too, really annoying.. I see like a shadow of some sort. I would really like to get this fixed. Anyone have any tips or ideas?
