Brake Pads C200K
Had the car serviced last month and the report states 2.5mm front and 2mm rear remaining. Looks more like 7mm all round to me. I have 67,000k's up.

I have done 83,000 km & calculating wear should get about 250,000 km. Now about 10 mm. Old fart country driving of course.
It may well be worth while removing a couple of wheels to check the wear yourself as 7mm should last quite some time. New are about 13 mm .
Also check your disc thickness . I bought a cheap Chinese brake micrometer. If you achieve longer wear on your pads you may be able to change your disc & pads at the same time. The wear limits on front are 26mm & rear 8.3.mm.
By the way, pad wear indicator actuates at 3mm.

If the indicator actuates at 3mm then the dealers report is inaccurate. Reason I was asking is that the pedal sometimes goes close to the floor and I feel I have to pump it to get it firm. Also, according to the dealer the system was bled and the fluid was changed. I did check the fluid and it appears to be clean and new.

Here is another thread which may help.https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...placement.html
Good luck & let us know how you go.

Thanks for that, I have read it all but am still not sure if that is my problem. Will go thru it all again. One thing tho is that his problem and mine started after a trip to the dealer to work on the brake system in some way, his for pads mine for a brake bleed. I wonder if it is the same with other cars.

If the dealer caused the problem then they should fix it free of charge.
Maybe they let a lot of air into the system & another bleed is required.
I have flushed my brake fluid 3 times ( every 2 years) by the pressure method in reservoir & have no problem with having a pedal afterwards.

Again, thanks. I will take it for a drive today and see if I can more closely relate it to any of the symptoms in both those threads. I will also determine the amount of actual pad I have left on all four corners..
Unfortunately the dealer that serviced the car is in Sydney and our closest dealership up here is about 30ks away. Problems of leaving in a regional area. However determining the exact problem is what I have to do first. I wonder if anybody else in Australia is experiencing the same problem. Feel free to chime in.
