Low Beam check headlight message

Hello, I have a 2010 Mercedes C300 and last night I got an error message to check left low beam headlight and noticed that the driver side headlight was off but the passenger headlight was on. If I turn on the High Beams they both work, I thought the light bulb went dead so I took it out and replaced it with new bulb and still it wouldn't turn on. I then tested the wire and there was no power coming in, has anyone ever had this issue? I also checked all the fuses and they were good but I don't know if there is a secific fuse for the headlights.

No, I have HID lights for my low beams, I bought a low beam headligt bulb from the store becuase at first I thought it was either the ballast or HID bulb so I wanted my headlight to work and thats when I noticed that the new bulb didn't work either. There is no power coming into the wire where you connect the bulb into.

did you connect the new halogen bulb to the stock harness? Or to the HID ballast?

When I had HID on my C300, it is always the driver side ballast that goes bad. Never the bulb.

Install the bad bulb on your other ballast to make sure it isn't the HID bulb bub.

Question Same..

I have the same problem.. I keep getting the check left and right low beam message so I've been driving with my high beams lately. I'm thinking It's a blown fuse or something because It's also telling me about my left & right side markers but they work just fine.. Today I'm thinking about buying 2 new bulbs to see If the bulbs are just shot. I have halogen headlamps not HID.

@4MATICJAE, does your low beam work? Is your side marker aftermarket?

Visited my local Mercedes dealer today.

My car had a recall for the tail light thing that was going on so I figured why not? I drove down there, Unfortunately I didn't get my car serviced because the bill was too much. But they told me my bulbs are just blown out & I realized that so we're my parking bulbs and my side markers I'm honestly confused

Since my low beams are shot.. I'm upgrading to these 5k morimoto http://www.ebay.com/itm/MORIMOTO-3FIVE-H7-XENON-HID-PREMIUM-BULBS-3000K-4300K-5000K-6000K-PAIR-RETROFIT-/251651662000?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a979ba0b0&vxp=mtr
What do you guys think? I don't want to pay more than 100 bucks for HID's because I want to get white matching parking lights, license plate led & side markers also.

Any good deals? Pics? Hows your set up?

Hey guys sorry for the late reply!! Last night I connected the new Hollogen Light bulb to the Harness and it turned on perfectly which means there is power coming in. Tonight I will mess with the HID bulb and see if I need a new HID bulb or ballasts.

I have a lot of problems with my left headlight as well with hid. I already replaced the bulb and the ballast and eventually the same side sometimes fails to start and gives me the error message. Requiring 4-5 switch offs and on to get it to start, very annoying.

I have morimoto elites with the canbus harness.

I get this once in awhile also. It happens to both sides too, then I have to do the off/on switch thing. The car is still under warranty but it happens so intermittently that I know it won't happen when I bring it in.

What bulbs do you have? are they factory halogen bulbs? factory hid? or aftermarket hid?

2005 S55. I get the low beam out message now. Had it previously and my dealer swapped the actuators and it went away.

But it's back again.

And as soon as I shut the car off and turn it on again, no more message and light is working fine.

Any ideas?

This is an old thread but I am having issues with my low beam light as well. I have a the aftermarket depo c63 style headlights. I had them professionally installed and they were fine for a while until recently. The low beam started going out on both of them intermittently. Sometimes it would work fine, sometimes either one or the other just turned off. Just yesterday I kept getting the check right low beam message and my right low beam was off. I thought it would eventually come on but it's still not working. I have HID on it so it could be possibility that it is the ballast but I don't know for sure. Anyway I am going to take it back to the shop I got it done at and hopefully they can take a look at it. Please let me know if you have any advice for me.

Are you using the HIDs that came packaged with the DEPO? If so they typically fail in a year. DEPO paired low end HID kit with their housing to keep cost down. Might need to upgrade to a higher end HID kit.

So the shop that did my install said that I had to buy HIDs which is weird because I thought the DEPOs came with HID ballasts. Anyway I agreed and paid even more money so they installed some 6K HIDs that they ordered.

So I'm actually having a similar issue and hoping someone can help...

I bought DEPO headlights from Unique Style Racing (.com) and I upgraded to the Bi-xenon HID setup with 10K bulbs...

Everything was fine until recently when the temperature changed....
Now that it is cold, neither headlight turns on regardless of setting...

So I bought 3 different brand replacement bulbs and components -- and all 3 resulted in same thing - lights only kick on randomly if it's cold -- I can have car running on highway, pull over, turn lights off, then on again, but they won't kick on....

I then sit for sometimes over 20 minutes before they come back on and even then its iffy....

I went to the manufacturer and they sent me a new canbus module - but I'm still having same issue...

At this point, I'm giving up completely on HID so i can try LED....

Any input from anyone???

Please help....

Talk to AZN Optics. I've ordered HIDs from him and will be installing them this weekend. I also got LEDs for the interior, license plate and eyebrow(lids) lol....All the LEDs perform flawlessly. I have the Morimoto Hids which are a higher end setup from what I've read.
