I see that it is made by Metra and the seller just combined all of the parts to create a kit.

It's a good kit. I had mine covered in cf and installed the new Pioneer NEX8000 with it.

I was told by Metra that the seat heater buttons have been relocated to where the original screen is. Do you have a pic of that? Also, can I bother you to also take a shot looking straight at the unit as if you were sitting in the back seat looking at it? TIA!

This is exactly what I want but all the audio shops around me say the whole car needs to be rewired to get something like this done.

Can you explain the steps involved and possibly take more pictures please? What was the cost?

Just installed in that kit on my c class. I ended up using a aswc-1 & 9005-nav, it had more button options. But the ignition wire did not work so I had to wire it my self, I also wired the power wire straight to the battery and the Pioneer AppRadio 4 will not fit. One more think be careful the tabs on the trim they brake easy.

My set up
Metra 40-EU56
Metra 95-8717
Axxess ASWC-1
Axxess 9005-nav
Kenwood eXcelon DNN991HD

I had two places try and do it because I did not have time. But they both could not do it and one of them broke a bunch of tabs and disconnected my brake light sensor so the brake light stayed on constantly. Took me a few days to notice. I lost over 200.00, So I just made time and did it my self. Was not too hard, just had to connect a remote wire to my cigaret lighter, connect the reverse light to the head unit and connect the radio to the battery so the head unit would stop resetting. Not sure why my original reverse wire and remote wire did not work and why the constant +12 volt would shut off?
If you take on the task fell free to PM.

I apologize for the delay, I was away on a business trip and just saw this. My install is a little elaborate. I didn't want any of the factory wiring cut into at all, so the car literally is wired with all JL Audio speaker cable, RCA's and power wire from front to back, as well as it has a Sirius extension cable that is connected to the factory roof satellite antennae, and the only connections that are made into the factory wiring are through the factory to aftermarket plug.

This is what I have in the car:

Pioneer Avic-NEX8000
(http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...X/AVIC-8000NEX)
Pioneer CD-AH200 IPhone adapter
(http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...ables/CD-AH200)
Pioneer ND-BC6 rear camera
(http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...Cameras/ND-BC6)
3 sets of Jl Audio ZR650-CSi components
(http://www.jlaudio.com/zr650-csi-car...-systems-91122)
1 X JL Audio 750/1 sub amp
(http://www.jlaudio.com/hd750-1-car-a...plifiers-98220)
1 X JL Audio 900/5 amp for front/rear/center channels
(http://www.jlaudio.com/hd900-5-car-a...plifiers-98223)
1 X JL Audio 13TW5v2 13" flat sub
(http://www.jlaudio.com/13tw5v2-2-car...-drivers-92182)
JL Audio CL-RLC Processor for center channel
(http://www.jlaudio.com/cl-rlc-car-au...xpansion-98117)
JL Audio HD-RLC sub control mounted to the bottom of the factory I drive control
(http://www.jlaudio.com/hd-rlc-marine...essories-98118)
Scosche MZ01SR Wiring harness
(http://www.scosche.com/car-audio/mz0...ace-2008-11-mb)
Metra 95-8717 Installation kit
(http://www.metraonline.com/part/95-8717)
Sirius SXV200V2 satellite radio adapter
(http://www.crutchfield.com/p_220SXV2...0V1-Tuner.html)
Terk XM-EXT50 extension to plug the Sirius into the factory satellite antennae
(http://www.crutchfield.com/S-vBPdflM...-XM-EXT50.html)
All wiring is JL Audio and the car is completely done with Dynamat

As for the price, you can get the stuff a lot cheaper on line. I averaged paying 30%-40% (more through Richard) cheaper than the prices listed on the sites by looking around on line, but I had my friends local shop do the installs.

For everything JL Audio call Richard Bui from Dynamic Autosound in Santa Ana, CA (714-754-7700) and tell him that "Rick from Jacksonville, FL" told you to call. He gives me the best prices (will beat anyone), everything is new in the box & has warranties (JLA authorized dealer), he ships everywhere, and stands behind what he sells (no BS, and will stay in contact with you). I have been buying from him for 2 years now, and you cannot beat his prices or customer service. The last time I needed something, it was a JL HD sub amp, I just shot him a text (he will give you his cell number), within five minutes my Paypal had an invoice, it was on Friday at 4PM EST when I paid it, I received the amp from UPS Monday morning at 10AM EST, and with shipping it was 39% cheaper than going to my local JLA dealer. I can't get that level of service from my local shop, and I have known him for 20 years.
Everything I have in the C-Class, GT-R R35, and TT I bought from him except the headunits, Sirius, and the headunit add ons. The only thing I would really recommend is that you pay regular price for the head unit at a local shop because if there is ever an issue with it (screen, display, etc.) they will take care of the warranty without you having to ship back and forth.

Give me a couple of days and I will take some more pics, the car is apart right now having all of the carbon look/hydro dipped parts covered in real carbon so it is in pieces so I am having to drive the GT-R around until it's done.

Yes I forgot about the tabs, he is absolutely correct. They are fragile as Fk. I purchased a second kit "so I would have a spare just in case I broke the damn thing again". I would recommend taking some JB Weld and covering the bottom of the tab shafts where they connect to the base of the plate, and coating them all the way up. I did this after I killed the first one after the reinstall. Also most of the decks now have a fuse in the back of them in the chassis, so I made extensions, plugged them into the factory fuse location and have it ran down on the side under the panel now so that if it does blow the fuse it's an easy fix instead of dismantling that whole spaghetti mess and then trying to make it fit again after fixing it. It will just take a few minutes to do this, and trust me it saves a huge potential headache.

Too bad the AppRadio 4 doesn't fit. Was it too deep? I wonder if the Alpine iLX007 would fit?

The appradio case hit the trim so it did not fit. Kinda hard to describe.

I just looked at the dimensions of the Appradio 4 vs. the Avic-Nex8000NEX I have in the C, and it doesn't make any sense to me. The Appradio doesn't have half of the features of the NEX units, they do run the same software, yet the Appradio's dimensions are 5.1" deeper than the NEX.

I had an older Appradio before, and they have one serious flaw. When the iPhone or Android systems get an OTA update, unfortunately your phone will not communicate with the radios until Pioneer releases an update as well. You will only have radio & BT functions This happened to me twice and I sold it. If you go with the AVIC or NEX units you still have all other functions available to you (Sirius, Radio, BT, Disc, etc). The Appradio is the last radio I would ever purchase after what I went through before with the Appradio 1. I just bout the new Avic-Nex8100NEX for my TT, the NEX units are very dependable units.

Appradio 4=9.6" x 6.4" x 11.1"
Avic-Nex8000NEX=6" x 9.6" x 6"

My appradio was about 6.5x7x4? I only use my iPhone of a usb to play music. So I went for the app radio 4 it was cheeper and looked good, but it did not fit so I went for a Kenwood 991-HD and got a wifi hot spot for my car. I was about to by a 8000nex but the 991 was a little cheeper.

I read reviews for the Kenwood looks like a good unit.

I just talked to Richard Bui from Dynamic Audiosound and he said if anyone wanted his cell to put it on here. It's 949-335-2091. I just ordered a set of JL Audio ZR650-CSI's and another JL 950/5 HD amp from him new for the Audi TT for less than I could buy the amp for here in FL.

Were any of your heated seat buttons (rt2 & w204man) re-routed to the top of the old screen? I just don't like the way that looks.

Purchase one of these w204 radio displays, remove the display (you can get them on eBay sometimes for $50), take a black ABS plastic sheet and glue two small panels into the pocket where the display was, take a dremmel and make a cutout for your buttons, extend the wires for the switches, run the wires up the back of the radio/vent cavity to the pocket area, install the switches into the back wall of the pocket, and you now have a functional pocket with your switches.
