2012 C300 with Halogen Lights need new lights

Hey guys, I just bought a 12 C300. Unfortunately, the car has "jaundice" and the lights are still halogen. I want white HID lights, but the previous owner bought the 135k warranty package so I still have 4 years and over 70k miles left of warranty.

I dont want to make any mods to my car that would void my precious warranty.

I was thinking about just replacing the bulbs with someone that looks kind of white. What do you guys think about Philips Crystal Vision or Diamond Vision bulbs?

Any other recommendations?

Thanks

Sylvania silverstar ultras. Apparently they don't last as long as regular bulbs but I find their light output superior, so I don't really mind.

Phillips "white" bulbs are awful and have almost no light output.

Buy replacement headlights or do nothing. You'll void some part of your warranty. But it's not worth doing anything else.

Really? Shoot I think I had read other threads with good reviews for Diamond Visions, which is why I bought them.

I didn't test them side by side with the original halogen to compare when installing, but haven't noticed a drastic downgrade.

They're literally not approve by the DOT because their light output is not high enough. They're not legal. I actually found them dangerous to drive with, you would outrun your headlights at 60km/hr, and needed to have your high beams on permanently at any highway speeds. (assuming you didn't replace your high beams)

I replaced mine with the Silverstars and the parking lights (sometimes called city lights) with AZN optics 194 wedge LED bulbs. Silverstars are whiter than stock, light output is o.k. LED's match the cars running lights pretty closely.
Much better look than the stock bulbs.
I can't comment on longevity as I have only had them for six months.

I have Diamond Visions. They "look" great, but they are terrible in terms of light out-put. They suck in the dark

I have Phillips Diamond Vision in my car. It looks good as it match with LED DRL, but when driving in the rain & night, the output is not that great. I think the stock halogen was a little bit brighter when driving in the rain at night. However, when it is not raining, the output from Diamond Vision was okay, but not exceptional.

I saw these on ebay. What do you guys think?
Aren't the LEds suppose to be white?

You can't go wrong with those depo projection headlights. Highly recommend. Also Recommend going through unique style racing to purchase. I had a great and easy experience with them.

Was it hard to install? Also, is it suppose to be white or yellow below on the LED portion?

Thanks

Self install about ~2 hours. Not hard in my opinion. "The LED Portion" you mention are you refering to the turn signals?
"C" shape parking light = white
LED Turn signal = yellow
Headlight bulb = buyer preference. I chose 6000k (mostly white / some blue when cold or during daylight)

Also, on the Oem bixenons, do the LED turn signal looks white? Your pics seem white.

No instructions but just search on this forum for diy headlight or google it. Plenty instructions available. my aftermarket turn signals are LED yellow. And im sure the OEM ones are the same. Maybe someone with the lighting package can verify the color ??? http://youtu.be/XU6bSJ-b0mk

Great experience with USR too.

Read this, https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...rill-mesh.html

Then, watch this,
and this

Bolts and everything are the same for pre-facelift and post-facelift model

I suggest to get a buddy to help you aligning the headlights with the body lines. It is crucial to align it properly when you're attaching it onto the frame if u want it to look perfect

Lastly, what color bulbs are included in the headlights? I think i remember reading somewhere it is 6000K? if so, does that seem too blue?

4300k is oem style, more lumens (light output), sometimes a bit yellow (not this one according to me and other mbworld members)
6000k is cooler, white-ish/blue-ish (on some, not this one according to mbworld members)

I think you can ask fishcake (ebay seller) or USR to put HID custom. HID is not included in the initial price (most of the sellers), it's like an additional 60/70 dollars

Got it. I may ask if I can have 5000K and split the difference. Debating between 4300 and 5000K.

You may ask, but I believe that Morimoto is one of the few that offers 5000K with the quality that we expect.

Does anyone offer those lights other than fishcake? the prices seemed to have went up. I am looking for the normal "c" and not the big capital c one.

Thanks!

Hi I just bought the headlights and the HID kit that USR sells.

The HID kit is probably error free right?

Since there isn't auto leveling, has anyone had any problems with blinding other drivers?

Thanks
