Hey guys, I've been asking a lot of questions about the GH lip and diffuser so I wanted to contribute and post pics of both parts installed on my c300. Both parts were bought from a single auction on ebay for 600$ including shipping from wing2238. The c63 brackets were needed for the diffuser and cost me 17$ each from parts warehouse.

Looks good. One of the dealers around here sells that lip for like $499 + ship and I can almost guarantee it's the same Chinese one, so I'll likely order from eBay instead.

How is the lip installed?

I used the same exact bolts, nuts, washers that were used in this thread.
https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...p-install.html

I think the difference between the vendor lips and the eBay lip is that the holes are not predrilled. The lip seemed a little off when I first did a mock fitting. After using a heat gun on the taps and putting pressure on the right places it fits as flush as possible with the bumper.

I used a bunch of bungee cables and clamps to hold the bumper in place. After that I just drilled the holes, put in the bolts.

Are the C63 brackets required for all CF rear diffusers?

I didn't purchase a C63 style, it's actually meant for the AMG styling packaged W204's so am hoping it's not required although I suppose it's not a big deal regardless.

Looks good, front lip and grille are next for me as well.

If it is mean't for the regular c300 sport then you probably can reuse the original brackets. It's 20x more stable and solid with the them. I would never have drove the car with the diffuser on and no brackets.

Gotcha. I am assuming since this one in particular is NOT compatible with the AMG it would be designed specific to our cars but I just noticed you posted the bracket numbers in another thread so will keep that in mind. Thanks.

Wife doesn't know it yet but she's getting a CF front lip. Too many scrapes under the bumper from the previous owner. Must hide with front lip

I noticed the same on the underside of my bumper too. The lip does a great job at hiding those ugly scrapes.

Looks great...guessing the heat gun is 100% necessary? Also guessing having a friend help would be beneficial.

How was the fitment of the diffuser? And other than having to get the c63 brackets, how was the install?

Looks great thanks for sharing.

Yeah I've noticed the difference online is that vendor lips usually come pre-drilled and have the mounting hardware, but the eBay ones don't.

For what its worth...there seriously doesn't seem to be difference whatsoever between the two other than that. So, a little time and patience and you can definitely save yourself some money and cut out the middle man.

Still debating if I am ever going to buy a front lip but from past experience on other cars with lips you end up constantly scraping so they get beat up real fast if you're not careful. I'll probably pass.

The heat gun actually was only necessary to use on the tabs. I heated them up and straightened them out. That solved the initial issue I had when I first tried to install it. I had both screws on each side and was about to put the tips on and I noticed how unstable the bottom was. I was going to use the alternate method of just using a 10" bolt. The bottom of the diffuser does not align with the bracket hole so that method wont work. The only difficult or tedious part was getting the tab through the bumper then through the bracket.

I will take more pics of the diffuser when I get home from work.

When I got under the car I noticed there were already some scrapes on the bumper. I figured this lip would at least protect the bumper so when I eventually went to sell the car I could just take off the lip and the under side of the bumper will still be in good condition.

I wrapped the window chrome in matte black vinyl and removed the lower chrome trim. I'll post pics of that tomorrow after I take it for a wash. Cost me 220 for the x pipe and tips to be installed. I know that is much higher then a lot of places, but I trust this shop so I was fine with it.
