W204 Headlight Assembly
Hey Guys,
I got into a minor collision recently and both my headlight assembly cracked their 8mm and 9 mm assembly pins either ways I'm looking into buying other ones i currently have the Bi-xenon headlights and my budget is not very flexible was wondering if anyone knows where to get some in Toronto, Canada for a decent price or is it a good idea to maybe possibly switch to the halogens even though I don't want to
Thanks in advance guys i really appreciate it and I want to get my baby back on the road soon

Unfortunately that was not an option in my case since I thought in the beginning that it was nothing, but I appreciate your feedback!

Switching to halogen will require reprogramming since the car thinks it has HID lamps. That would probably be a couple hundred just for programming, if the dealer even agrees to it.

try car-part.com, but no guarantee.
But man, I have been there.
A replaced Xenon headlight assembly is really the one you need. $700-900 at least. Just ask your local repair shop to get one for you. Do NOT go to MB Dealer. Last time, my headlight was drown by their complementary car wash. Those ******* wanted me to pay $2000 for just one headlight assembly, as they say that was a existing crack on your car, not our responsibilities. I got an old working one after arguing with their manager for over like 3 weeks.

You would have to retrofit the headlight wiring harness and connectors, as well as the programming. You can email Steve at MBenzNL@gmail.com and see what they can do for you. They are in The Netherlands and they have access to a great range of MB Parts. I used them to get the parts to retrofit ILS headlamps into my 2013 C350
Hey Thanks for the Help, but was able to find a recycling place where they had them for sale! Should be getting them on Friday and installing them. Out of budget but it's ok!
.....But the craziness begins of wanting to replace everything now! like getting the K&N Filters, replacing the spark plugs what did I get my self into!! ahahah

I just takes something broken to send you down that path. Did you stay with HIDs or go Halogen? But plugs, coils and filter should be easy and save hundreds of dollars.
While I love this car MB doesn't give you much in comparison to other manufacturers. Keyless Go, backup guidelines and HID should be standard features. I'd like to source parts out but these projects are all such a major undertaking.

Yeah I had to stay with HIDs, apparently it's way to complicated for me to do and go with the halogens on a HID system!! (Also the difference is amazing)
And Yeah you're right..but after what I just spent... It's just a little too much!!
My next Project maybe in a couple of months is Getting the NTG-4....Any thoughts?

You can buy aftermarket headlamps for facelift W204s with ILS. They are made by the same company (Automotive Lighting) but do not say "Mercedes Intelligent Lighting System" on the ring around the projector. They will set you back about $875 instead of $1160 for the OEM, but again it is the same exact unit.

I can't tell any visual differences in those part numberes, but 3639 comes up with a lot of options. 4439 shows up exclusively in German.

I think you're just gonna have to bite the bullet on this one. Though pricy, I would just go with it to retain any headlight features you have such as Auto Leveling and AFS Features. Error Messages and lost functions can get quite annoying sometimes.

Hi
Disassemble the light and carry out a fibreglass repair the cracks from the inside and out side then reassemble.
Tools, plastic leavers and small electric fan heater to get it hot before dis-assemblely and reassembly.
Get the headlight hot to soften the sealant then carefully pry the lens off
sand the surface prior to applying glue and fibreglass.
All cleaned up ready for assembly
Plastic tool used to pry the lens off now used to push the soft sealant back in to the grove. Then heat the light up and push the lens back in to the sealant to reseal it. Sealant is like chewing gum just push it back down the grove.
Finished item saved $$$
