2012 w204 EBS & ABS inoperative
Hello everyone
so i recently had my brake pads changed at a local auto shop, since i had the "check brake wear" message, afterwards the brakes started working normally and there was no more squealing sound which it previously had, however the "check brakewear" message had not dissapeared. So i took it to the same car shop again and he connected a tablet of some sort to a port under the steering wheel and pressed some random things and didnt know how to fix it again, thanks to that genius the car now has this "EBS & ABS inoperative check owners manual" and "run flat indicator inoperative" i also noticed that the cruise control doesnt work. Now im not to about to let that ******* of the hook but i want to know wether or not i can do anything myself to remove theses messages.
-Any advice is appreciated, thanks

Out Of Control!!
Your first mistake was taking the car to a shop that has sheep grazing out back--he does not have the correct diagnostics to clear the fault--if you can't find someone with DAS Xentry --then it's off to the dealer to clean up bubas mistakes!!

Sounds like he didn't install new wear sensors/replace the old ones. Dumb.
I'm not sure what exactly he did to make the system completely inoperative, but best take it to another shop to ensure all the new pad wear sensors are correctly installed & have the fault codes cleared as well.
The check brake wear message typically disappears when the wear sensor is replaced; the sensor is basically a "fused" electrical circuit. When the brake pads are worn enough, the sensor is sacrificed/destroyed to break the circuit, causing the message to show up. I have no idea what he did to just "turn off" that message, but it sounds like he's managed to disable the ABS/ESP system entirely which is quite stupid.
When the brake system is not fully functional, ABS/ESP, Cruise control and the tire pressure monitor systems become inoperative.

Sometime you learn stuff the hard way it happens to everyone. I learnt this when I went to a different shop for an alignment threw away $180 to save $40, I ended up going to a Mb dealership and they fixed the issue(obviously paying the $220 for an alignment again). Live and learn but hopefully you can fix the problem and not spend to much!

Four possible reasons of Abs, esp inoperative, see owners manual
1. Check Break pad sensors/ abs sensors, as abs is connected to esp , so in faulty sensors the signal shows on dashboard.
2. Change break switch, it is just above the breakpaddle.
3. Check abs switch , it’s in switch board.
4. Expensive but last possibility is replacement of complete ABS module.
Kindly note sometime, low current level of battery is also cause of malfunction.
