rear rattle noise
Has anyone experienced rattle from the back when going over small bumps and cracks on the road?
I don't hear it with the windows closed only when open and definitely in the back. Sounds like a loose part rattling.
I first thought it was those plastic covers over the back suspension linkage which feel loose but made no difference after tightening with zip ties
Thank you.

Ok, went under the car while changing the differential oil. All I manage to find out is when I hit the tire with a rubber mallet I hear rattle inside the wheel, like inside the e brake drum area. The rest looks good.
At the same time I sprayed the cv joint rubber boots as they were bone dry.

YOUR problem is coming from your emergency brake cable going in to the rear wheels.
there are plastic button that goes on each side that eliminate any rattle wile going over bumps.
had the same issue made the dealer repair it .
had prove it to them by putting it up on the lift and making them use a rubber malit on the rear tires.

More info.
Few people have had this problem and dealerships are having hard time discovering the root cause.
The reason is loose clips for the e brakes.
Part number is 230-988-00-81 o number 407 in in attached diagram.
I hope this helps people with similar problem.
Thank you.

Nice when people put their solutions and info up instead of just being a grab n go. Thank you, although I personally didn't need it, lol!

Hey current and past C300 owners, I have the same rattle. Is this something most mechanics can find or fix, something I can do on my own, or something I should bring to the dealership to be fixed?
I have the exact same rattle, rear right tire. Super annoying.
