Parts underneath car falling out
Hey guys, I recently purchased a certified pre-owned 2014 C300 a couple weeks ago. Today I noticed some yellow substance underneath the car and went to check it out, upon touching it some parts started coming loose and fell out.
I have very little knowledge on cars and would like to know what these parts are and if they are important and should be fixed ASAP. Thank you.

I believe that is one of your jacking points of your car. It looks like it was damaged before and someone tried to glue it in. Be thankful it fell off right now than it failing when an actual jack is on it. Bring it to your dealer and show them the pictures. If it is CPO then that should be fixed no questions asked. Also if you look closely on the picture it looks like the weld seam besides the jack point was bend inwards. I bet the previous owner jacked his car without using an adapter or a piece of wood then it slipped causing it to break.

OP...I agree with this.

CPO does not mean jack **** unless I see a guy with a lab coat named Hans working on or inspecting the car.
Mine car had a few issues that were intentionally missed that I ended up dealing with after the fact.
Dealership basically told me to F off when I wanted the issues dealt with.

I think you have a case here. If the car is CPO it means the car should be sound on EVERYTHING. If a part fails because a previous owner tried to fix it and the dealer did not catch it during the CPO inspection (if even an inspection happens) the parts involved should be covered.
OP you need to call the salesguy you dealt with and tell him/her the situation then tell him you will contact MB to complain if this does not get fixed. The fact that you have a failed jack point might leave you stranded on the road if you have a flat tire on that side and no way you will be able to use the supplied jack that came from the car.
Also when you are dealing with MB be nice as much as possible and dont go gang-ho on them.

In which case the dealer would not have to offer a free repair on this considering the fact that a jack pad would not likely fall on its own, but more so, either as a result of improperly jacking up the car OR the car bottoming out, or skimming a curb or a ledge, neither of which would be covered under a CPO warranty!
