Hey guys. I’m at my wits end on this thing. Have read every thread, watched every video. Hope someone can help me out here.
I STILL can’t figure out how to pair my OBD2 ELM Bluetooth dongle to the Android tablet. In the Bluetooth settings there is nothing to select to pair to. In the Bluetooth screen there is nothing that shows up to pair to, not even my phone. I just can’t figure out how to do it.
Theres no button or anything on the Kiwi dongle, it’s just always discoverable. Pairs to my iPhone without issue. iPhone also pairs to the Android screen no problem when I select it from the iPhone (no way to select anything from the Android).
Could someone please walk me through the process to pair step-by-step before I smash it into pieces please? I am trying to like this thing but it’s really testing my patience. Thanks

But I will try my best. One of my displays used MTK (9" Display from merry way) there is a hidden menu to enable the second Bluetooth. Only by doing that, the display can join to a dongle, in my case a vgate pro via Bluetooth. Then I had to install an app ( Bluetooth force pin pair) to input the pin code automatically because the menu to do so, dues not pop up. So you have select a default pin code and whenever you connect to the Bluetooth it will use that one.
That's the way I did it.

I succeeded as well on my screen as stated in the previous post, to connect the same way to the command Bluetooth. A little bit trickier because you have to swap screens. But possible. The only downside is the lag in audio, for example if voice injection is needed. But if it is for just playing audio where 2 seconds delay don't make a difference then the quality is superb: from digital to digital without crossing any DAC.

What did you swap to? I'd imagine its either some setting or some code that isn't enabled by default. What about plugging in a bluetooth dongle to the usb connection of the screen?

I read that in the newer displays 10.25/12.3 based on Qualcomm 625 it was not possible even adding a dongle because the Bluetooth stack was implemented differently from the android.
That status is 3 months old. You just better check in the discord channel if that is the display that you have.

Hi there from across the pond in the UK
Did you ever find a way to get your OBD recognised by your Android Mercedes system? Thanks.

Hi, I got mine off the mekede store on AliExpress, all, in about 360 euro.. No regrets, its the best piece of kit I've ever had in a car. It has its quirks but the pros far far out weigh the small niggly quirks. For the likes of the obd tool, I can see where people are having problems. The Bluetooth connection isn't as straightforward as an android phone and it seems to be just for phones. I have android auto on mine but it will not connect to Bluetooth either, but it doesn't bother me as I have maps, Spotify etc all in one spot and can be controlled with steering wheel or "OK Google" I have it installed about 8 months now, any questions just shout.

OP here. Anyone selling their older / used later revision of the square corner one with 2 or 3gb ram. My v1 is finally giving me persistent out of memory warning. And I think it's time for a slight upgrade but I prefer the square corner version. Let me know.
