Question Where do you guys do your service maintenance?

I have a 2012 C300 4-Matic sport, it needs to change the spark plugs and the transmission fluid. So I went to MB dealer and they asked me for more than $800 for those two. I know the parts only cost little and mainly the labor costs a lot.
Just want to know where do you guys do those services? Should I go to a local European car mechanic or spend more at Mercedes Benz? Is the fluids or spark plugs at the MB dealer be better? or can I order the parts myself and go someplace else to do it?

Go with FCPEuro.com which offer FREE lifetime replacement on all the parts they sell. Do some research inside this forum section and you'll find plenty of threads about spark plug replacement and how much cheaper it is for you to buy them and have a mechanic replace them vs the dealer.

As for the transmission fluid, a full flush is recommended which includes the fluid inside the torque converter as well and which won't be covered if the dealer just does a pan drop. Again, do some research on that and you'll find plenty of info here.

I would agree a trusted independent shop is the way to go for a lot of repairs and maintenance. But.....before you go buying your own parts make sure the shop you choose allows that. They might not want to be responsible for someone else's parts. Often it dpends on the kind of relationship you have with them. Better to ask first just to be sure.

Here are two links about changing spark plugs, and if you look on FCP's site they are having a sale right now so you could save some money. I have done most of the maintenance on my car except the transmission. I don't have lift, so I have the dealer do it and I make sure he drains the converter. Everything else that the car needs you can do. And on FCP's site there many how to for the C300 and other makes. Hope this helps.

Received the offer but says to use it May 1 to June 15. It doesn't say the expiring year though.
