C350 cdi possible egr fault

Hi. I have a 2010 c350 with a fault code pictured below. I have had the egr valve out and cleaned seemed better for a couple of days but now the fault keeps returning more frequently. Its really down on power and feels though there is no boost from the turbo but will intermittently return from time to time. Could it be anything else rather than a new egr valve? A sensor somewhere possibly? Thanks

Hi I"ve had the same issue P0405. Did the same, cleaning the valve. And 20miles later the same DTC.
The problem comes down to that - mechaniclly valve is OK but the problem is electrical. The salenoid/sensor
behind the valve is sending wrong info to the ECU and the then you have the SEL on dash. Its a 5 pin
connector which most of electricians dont mess with. You need to buy a new valve - that was the "sad"
news a had to swallow. There is some "emulators" on ebay, but you need to go further and edgucate yourself
which one to buy if you want to do a "EGR DELETE" which will cheat the ECU that the EGR is working fine.
Im getting my new EGR for 200 Euros - MAHLER.

Well the egr arrived and was the wrong one. It was a 4 pin socket and i have a 5 pin plug. I have had to order one from Mercedes but there are currently none available in the uk or Germany so i guess its going to be a long wait.

That looks like the one. Im kind of stuck now as i have already paid Mercedes and to be fair they are very similar on price but if i dont hear anything from them this week i may just cancel the order and buy one of these. How long ago did you order yours?

Friend of mine purchased it for me from this website 2 wks ago.He is in Germany. I see valve is available now.
He"ll bring it to me this coming saturday. BTW after 4-5 times clearing the DTC - P0405, now my Benz is running good
...I dont know what to say. Anyway I already paid for it, so will be ready for the next DTC showing. :-)

I have cleared mine a good 20 times and it always comes back at some point. I can drive it and it will be fine and then looses power but can come back again all within a couple of miles. Thanks for the link to the website i found the English version and delivery is free and the valve is £220 ish. If Mercedes drag there heels i will get one as i really would like it fixed now.

Yeah, I went to my MB dealer and got astronomical price for it, and still not available. At some point and time Im sure will change it even I have a good performance at the moment. Dont really understand what the "deal" with those vavles is, but it is what it is. Read in another forum for CO. called PIERBURG which makes autoparts like that. Cheers!

Will go for a ride tomorrow and see live data.
