2010 C300 EVERY-TIME I GET FUEL MY CAR WILL TURN OFF
My 2010 C300 will stall out when I leave running while getting gas. And if also if I turn car off before getting gas it will not start afterwards. The battery is not dead because the Lights and stereo work. I will try to start the car several times and nothing but somewhere in between 15-30 mins it will start for me I got he codes read at auto zone. All it shows it P0171 system to lean (bank1) & P0174 system too lean (bank2) has this happening to anyone and is there a solution that’s worked for anyone thank you for taking time and reading my post

I think a stuck open, intermittent or otherwise, EVAP solenoid valve might enter into this scenario. Stuck Open ( or Partially) valve...gas cap OFF....increased volume of air floods intake...intake continues to receive unmetered air through EVAP in addition to usual TB route....AFR elevated to lean range..ECM compensates with excess fuel, timing changes...hard start. The tendency to start (always, right ?) after a several minute wait points somewhat against a fuel pump/pressure cause. Car starts otherwise fine every time except for popping the gas cap ? Could you check if codes reappear after erasing or stay gone after multiple start ups, running miles without refueling.? AutoZone ,unless you got a friend there, will state they don't erase codes, only read them though.
The solenoid valve on my 09 C300 is, facing the engine, immediately to the left of the wiper fluid reservoir neck, top has circular clear area with centered dot. Sometimes tapping this on the side will unstick it if that is the problem.

When I open gas cap while running the car starts to sorta sputter....then it gets worse once I start putting gas. I bought car at an auction several months ago in Tempe Az you can tell when you open hood it may if sat for awhile short of the plastic is starting to dry rot along with some hoses nothing really bad enough that I can see needs replaced I just had the airbags fixed at a dealer and they changed oil. No codes came up for them. Now out of no where is happens could it be from bad gas? I always use 91 premium. But the local gas station here is rumoured to put water in the gas
