2008 C350 Headrear reattach after accident

Car is drivable, but am wondering as to how to reattach/lock the headrests back in place, back in their original position? Anyone know?
Thanks.

Interesting, I do not see a big spring like shown in your pictures. Guess the body shop who will be fixing the car may have to address this with the dealer.

btw, sorry to hear about your daughter's accident. I hope all is well.

Is the C250 4 cyl. a reliable vehicle? I only had 6 cylinder or 8 cylinder cars in the past, my wife's GLC300 is the first Mercedes 4 cylinder I ever had.
I found a clean, 2013 C250 with an extensive service history, 123k miles. Is this a good car?
Thanks in advance.

The rest of the car is the facelift version of your 2008. The COMAND unit is upgraded to NTG 4.5. Fuel economy of the turbo 4 is very good. It’s not going to have the performance of a C350 but it’s not slow either with a 0-60 @ 6.5 sec. FWIW I really like mine.

Did the airbags go off on the c350? or was it just the rear bumper damage and the headrests?

The airbags did not deploy on the C350, only the headrests which we fixed in the meantime in order to drive the car more comfortable. Bodyshop estimate (at the moment, WITHOUT tearing it down) is $5,221.00 for the repairs.

You could get a new rear bumper for about 300, diffuser 100, and a used trunk for around 500. Add about 500 for paint. Everything is very easy to install yourself,
I suppose it's just a matter of whether you are ok fronting the work.
You can try and prevent them from totaling it, take the cash and do the repairs, or you can let them total it (more money) buy it back, but then you will have a salvage title (might not matter to you, but will need to be inspected for rebuilt title)
As far as that m271 engine you can go ahead and search on here. Sure, there's plenty that have fine experiences. But those 4 cylinders have exponentially more problems than the 6 cyl models.

I do almost all my own repair work. That’s kind of a “must do” to own an out of warranty Mercedes.
I have a quite well equipped shop, lacking only a lift. I also have 2 exceptionally well qualified resources to help when I get in over my head. My camshaft adjusters failed under the extended warranty and MB paid to replace them and the timing chain. The HPFP is a simple and relatively inexpensive fix for me should it fail.
So…
If you decide to go with a C250, work a deal for a warranty that will cover any major busts for a reasonable deductible.
On the plus side — the C250 has the best F/R weight balance of any of the W204 US variants. As a result, it handles as well as a BMW 3 Series contemporary and is a hell of a lot more comfortable. The 1.8L I-4 is peppy while being economical in town and at normal highway speeds. It can be pushed, and when it is, the turbo boost comes on hard above 1500 RPM. It will perform as well or better than a C300 because it’s lighter. And, for those so inclined, a knowledgeable tuner can change the throttle response and turbo boost curves easily. After slapping on a set of Michelin PSAS 4 225/45 ZR 17 (94Y - it will never go that fast) and literally everyone who has driven it has offered to buy it or trade their car for it.
There you have it. I like my C250 better than any other Benz I have owned over the last 20 years. But I would still want a powertrain warranty if I were buying it today.

Looks like we will be checking out a 2012 C250 Coupe (C204) tomorrow.
118K miles with a service history and a set of near new Continentals. 18” AMG wheels and Sport Package. Owner seems very accommodating, just bought a new E Class Coupe.
Car needs some detailing, as it had to make room for the new car and has been parked on the street. If we get it, I am sure it will sparkle again in no time.
