722.9 No Engagement after Conductor Plate replaced

Hello y’all, looked all over the place and I found something online that someone else had the same problem as me to which they said that the EHS and VGS etc. are no longer compatible.. I would assume this would be from me getting a used conductor plate that isn’t compatible with my valve body which is why it’s not working.. real question now, is would it be easier/ cheaper to just go to Mercedes and have them rewrite the EHS# or should I just go online and buy a used valve body that matches what my scanner is telling me.. the website I found seems to have all the answers I would need, but you need to be “ASE” certified and verify you are in order to read the comments (which is bullcrap).. Anyways, any tips or advice would be appreciated!
thanks!

What part number is your scanner telling you you need?

Maybe it's your scanner. You problem may be a configuration issue versus a malfunction. In other words, everything may be functional, just not functioning as it should because it hasn't been configured. I had a problem with my radar sensors, which affected Distronic, Pre-safe Braking, etc. No codes because all components were within normal operational range. EXCEPT I had hosed up the configuration somehow with a third-party scanner and needed to re-calibrate the sensors. This required initiating a recalibration sequence using XENTRY and drive for 10-15 minutes. I could not have done this with iCarsoft or LAUNCH Creader. You are going to need to eventually take you car to the dealer and have them fix it or engage with @BenzNinja and see if he can fix your problem.

update: got another conductor plate installed, had the software updated to the lastest MB offers, SCN and EHS match, adaptions were made and programmed. Range sensor and activation of the conductor plate were done. And we still have no movement. Only thing I can think of, is I took apart the valve body to clean out the red fluid. Could I have possibly misplaced one of those aluminum ***** in there and that be causing my no engagement? Everything on my scanner is telling me the car should be reversing/ driving. Yet it just rolls in R,N,D 1-6.

Was it a new conductor plate or a used one again?

it was another used one. But it does work as it should. I made sure to check with the seller that it was properly Virginized and working and he confirmed it was. Those greedy *******s at Mercedes want a fortune for their new ones and yet you can’t even buy them over the counter lol.

The dealer charged me $1700 to replace the one in my 2004 SL500 a couple of years ago. That was for a new plate, programming, and transmission filter and fluid change. While not cheap, I figured it wasn't ridiculous. Prior to that, I had removed the old one, breaking off the plastic cable plug, and sent the whole thing to www.circuitboardmedics.com. They had a matching plate and was able to transfer all the coding over to it. Eventually, it failed too, and that's why I finally took it to the dealer. The whole thing was done in a day and never had another problem.

Not sure where you are located or what the dealer wants to charge, but it seems your options are limited since only an authorized Mercedes dealership can get new plates.
