Advice for selling manual '09 C300

Hi guys. New to the forum so let me know if this is the wrong place for this....

Looking for advice for (unfortunately) selling my 2009 C300. It is super low miles (just over 38k) and has the rare manual transmission. It's in awesome condition and have had it for almost two years and have loved it, but the RWD has been rough over two WI winters.

The problem is I don't know the best place/price to sell it. Getting super low numbers trade and CarMax won't even take it because the model year is too old.

I am leaning eBay but what should I sell it for? Is an auction worth the risk? These manuals are super rare and the mileage is so low, but I don't know if there is much demand because I don't even know if people know these cars came in manual at all because they are so rare.

Appreciate any advice!

First of all, what are you looking to get for the car? I'd say it's probably a $7-8,000 car where you are.
A manual transmission probably isn't a plus. Also, its a RWD car in a snowy climate. So it may take some time to sell it.
You can advertise on craigslist and offer up, although you will have to deal with a bunch of idiots and scammers.
Also autotrader.com. cargurus.com,cars.com

8-9k at the most. The car is not optioned well. If that vehicle have memory seats, HID headlamps, parktronic, command, backup camera, agility control, rear window shade, garage door opener, media interface, not color red with white seats and a C350 not a C300 then you might really have a gem.

If you're willing to drive it to Toronto, I'll buy it from you.

I'm in WI and I'd potentially be somewhat interested, but it looks like it has manual seats / non-heated correct?

Why don't you post the VIN and then people here can look up the data card on www.lastvin.com and know exactly what options, etc. it has. I do see you added CarPlay.

sorry for the delay in getting back… it has dual power seats but no heated seats. The controls are oddly down on the actual seat for these particular models.

I agree it has almost no options, but the 350 didn’t come in manual and I don’t know if the pre-facelift w204 even had some of those options available. I added CarPlay aftermarket and it’s actually really awesome and looks factory to me. It also has the pano roof which I don’t see in these cars that often at all.

that’s really what I’m trying to avoid - scammers, idiots and BS. I also want to get as many eyes on it as possible as I’m totally willing to ship. Seems dumb to sell it locally if I’m selling it because of WI winters… also, I thought manuals were desirable to enthusiasts. It’s not the best manual by any means, but it definitely changes this car imo

i was hoping to get 12-15 but sounds like that is way off the mark. I think 10 is reasonable but it might only get there if someone is looking for something like this specifically. Feels like I might just end up keeping it

It’s a Sport model with AMG trim and pano sun roof. But the other equipment is rather basic. Unusual combination. It’s coming back at $8400 in Blue Book, Edmonds, etc.

I’ve listed a lot on Craig’s List and sold about 1/2 of it. I even sold a house on it. But if you don’t want to wade through 80% scammers, weirdos, and squirrels, don’t bother going there. It’s not a good place to sell specialty stuff anyway.

I suggest listing on something like Hemings where the the buyers looking for a specific thing are. List it for more than you want and let them make the first move.

A manual C Class doesn't resonate the way a manual 3 Series does. Different buyer. A friend of mine was offered an E 90 328i manual with 130k on it for $6000. Similar age to yours. I think $10k is still a stretch. If you were in So Cal or FL it would be an easier sale. Tough where you are. Shipping to the warmer parts of the world probably @ $800-$1000. Keep that in mind.
