Getting the Navi to take you "Home" "My Address"

I have a C-Class with Command system. I can't figure out the simple command to get the car to navigate you home. I was in the dealer today and they couldn't figure it out. My home address has been saved to the car as "My Address" it even shows up in the contacts as "My Address", but if you voice command the car "My Address" it has no clue what you are taking about and instead brings up contacts that it thinks sound like "my address". I have saved my home address to a contact called "Home" and that has been the work around.

My Infiniti and Honda both had a command to "Go Home" thinking the Benz must have one also.

Anyone figure this out yet?

I haven't figured it out yet, but the audio entry is very slick and works the first time for me 99% of the time. I have experience similar to yours with the home entry on my Lexus. I haven't figured it out, but it's discussed on page 69 of the COMAND manual. You can download it as a searchable PDF from mbusa.com.

At the dealer we had the manual out and followed those instructions but still couldn't get it to work.

On old Euro Comand (Different to US Comand) like my CLK has, it stored your home address in "Recent Destinations" Not sure if Benz has continued this format.

You need to assign it a voice tag. Once assigned it will then search and use the voice tag.

I just entered my address and named it "Home." You can also, as noted by "jkyriakou", enter the information with Voice and call it "Home."

The other option is to use your MBrace free trial, download the app to your smartphone or tablet, and simply enter you home location and send it to the car via your device.

You can also set your home address as a favorite and use the favorite button on the touchpad. Mine is set up as the first favorite, so it's only 2 clicks to set HOME as the destination.

What I've discovered and use now is, if you say last destination to the Command System, "My Address" is always listed as a choice. Love the car but Mercedes definitely needs a complete overhaul of the UI of their Command System, I am already used to it, but compared to my previous cars, Honda & Infiniti were much better.

These screens and things need to just be interfaces for our smartphones IMO. The days of built in GPS seem 1990s. Let the phones be the upgradable guts, and the car 'interface' with them.

Yes, but just like the car manufacturers not using standard DIN sizes, it's all about them making more $$. How much of a premium can they charge if they can't provide you with a smart stereo?

Personally, I'd pay them the moneys they want for the COMAND, and even the Garmin stuff, as long as they'd let me use what I want at the end of the day (Android Auto)....even if it's a ripoff, as I would never use their navigation or 'smart' stereo
